Bloodline: Cradle, Book 9

A good read fulfilling promises if a bit rushed.
I really do love this entire series. This book does break from the format I feel from the previous eight, at least in the terms that it does not focus on our heroes advancement. It also back ends at least two books in a row that was full of nothing but advancing and fighting. So it does have a change of pace in that is a book dedicated to fulfilling the promise of book one. That is to say London's return home. This series is a third person limited series with several points of views and in this book I feel that the length of the book was a bit short compared to the amount of point of views we actually see. But I also think that the story was a bit smaller in terms of scale so is it hard balance to find. Just as always books the story is complete in and of itself. There is a good beginning middle and end.Given that it was a book designed to fulfill promises that in another series would actually in the series it sort of feels like the Will moved to go post a bit, but in truth I think the story grew to the point where the original ending perhaps became more of a milestone to launch the series further on.I cannot lie I do have a bit mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed it I have no doubt that I will enjoy reading again in the future. However I do feel like this book was more of a bridge book designed to help wrap up a major plot point of the series while setting up for the next few books of the series. I have to compare it to a few books in the Dresden files where it tells a good story that is interesting but not a major story of the series.I was pulled through each and every chapter. It almost felt like a novella and it's pacing and how much happened off page. I think part of the feel is that the author rushed to complete the book before taking a much-needed sabbatical. I do feel like there was some story left on The chopping block. That said I cannot gush over the series actually enough. I think that it is a must-read and something that would be actually read by meaning in the future. The series and the author has a fast growing fan base and it is undeniable that the author can throw out a very good story in a short amount of time. There was only a few spots in this book where I was a bit confused and I think that a sentence perhaps or two were accidentally edited out. That's rare considering the quality of his books.

Good read
I love it. All of the characters are well developed and interesting. I also like how the power system is put together.

Not Will's BEST book but still a great read
DISCLAIMER: I am a HUGE fan of Will Wight's Cradle series. His breakneck writing pace, his blog, "A Blog of Dubious Intent," his personality, and most of all his writing style. That being said, this book felt a bit short. Not rushed. Not missing content. It was the focus of the book. There wasn't Wills' normal character skill development, but plenty of character growth. Plenty of background fill in which honestly was quite a treat. I feel that with this book, we get the first real taste of where the power level for these characters is going as well as cresting into the endgame for the series. Will is as descriptive as normal, but the first third feels a bit rushed and slightly chaotic.Lets put this book in a succinct description for you: EXCELLENT filler book but is a pretty quick read. Setup for the middle gets a bit hectic feeling. Great content/world building/lore addition to the books. The last few pages really setup whats going to happen next and I can't wait to read it.4/5. This series is a must read if you are looking for fun, exciting, deep character books that are an easy read but always leave you wanting more. And trust me, Will cranks out books.

Evacuate Sacred Valley
BloodlineLindon and Yerin performed well in the tournament. The problem is that the Dreadgod called the Wandering Titan is awake and headed in the direction of Sacred Valley! The Dreadgods are far beyond anyone on this planet. The only thing they can possibly be done is to evacuate. The question is if Lindon and his friends can convince the sects in time. Not sure why I waited to get back into this series. Each book has been consistently better than the last. The book did a great job to hype up the inevitable destructive power that is a Dreadgod! Travis Baldree did an amazing job with the narration!Content warning: none

Flawless World building
The way the author reveled just little pieces of information and build this magic system and universe to everything results in this book and the next one. A piece of art, maybe other people would like more drama evolution of personal relationships, I liked the history this way, flawless World building, just wonderful.

wieder absolut überragend!
Sehr empfehlenswert, Fantasy at its best.

I hope this series never ends.
One thing I love about Will Wight's books; the smooth transition and the continuity between each installment. Bloodline was not an exception. I've read the book twice now.I don't want to write any spoilers, but there are a few laugh out loud scenes and few scenes that were emotionally hard to read. No matter how far Lindon goes he still has the scars of being considered "less than". There's a small part of the book where someone says something unintentionally hurtful and Lindon's spirit grows "disordered" though he doesn't externally react. I related to that. How many of us have had thoughtless words thrown at us based on assumptions that leave us feeling hurt and confused but we choose not to show how those words affect us externally? There was so much I appreciated about this book, it definitely left me wanting more and made me pull every passage about Suriel and Ozriel from Unsouled onwards. The next book is called Reaper and if you go back to Unsouled you'll see who that refers to.I do wish I had more of Lindon pushing the limits of his icon as a Sage, and though we had warning the ascension from Underlord to Overlord brings minimal change, it still felt a bit anti-climactic. Hoping to see both Him and Yerin push their boundaries in the next installment and I sincerely hope we see Dross again.

The series is so good, I have binge read 9 books straight. The battle scenes are really good. Would recommend it.
