An Excellent Alternative To The Hugely Expensive Sony Original
This was purchased for use with a Sony DSCHX90 Digital Compact High Zoom Travel Camera which uses a Sony NP-BX1 Rechargeable Battery. It's a great camera, but to my surprise is only supplied with a USB lead, not an actual charger! Sadly this is increasingly the case with compact cameras, as manufacturers strive to sell their goods at the cheapest possible price. At the end of the day it's our fault for voting with our wallets rather than on the basis of higher price for higher quality, but I digress. If, like me, you prefer to own two batteries and charge the spare off-camera, you need a proper charger. It's the only practical way to ensure you always have a fully charged camera to hand. Sony do actually make a charger - it's the Sony BC-TRX and will cost you a heart stopping £45 at present. That's why I began looking for a generic alternative.Having researched it a bit I chose this, the Lemix version. It really is very small and neat, with a footprint smaller than the Sony unit. I've found it to be entirely reliable. Plug your battery in and it shows a red LED light which turns green when charging is complete. Simple.Even better, this unit is powered via a USB socket, which has distinct advantages over a mains lead. It means you can attach it to any USB supply, including in your car, notebook computer or a power bank. And because the charger is so tiny you can easily pocket it and charge your camera battery on the go, wherever you are - no more waiting until you get home! Personally I prefer plugging into a USB 2 supply because it has a lower current than USB3. It takes longer to charge your battery, but slow charging is healthier, and your battery will have a longer life as a result. I charge mine over night, so slow charging is no issue.Note: This charger is supplied with a USB lead, NOT a mains plug. If you do prefer a direct mains powered charge just plug your existing smart phone charger into it, or plug the supplied USB lead into a USB plug. Many surge protectors and extension leads incorporate USB sockets these days too.So in summary, this charger is reliable, smaller than the Sony original, a quarter of the price, and usable anywhere. I recommend it!

Great tiny travel charger
Needed an external charger for my A73 as they don't come with one in the box. This is tiny and light so is ideal for travelling - it does what it should do - charges the battery !Simple, cheap and it works - excellent !

Better than buying lots of spare batteries.
Bought this ahead of a trip to Japan as it was cheaper than buying new branded batteries.Figured I could use this to charge spare batteries off an Anker USB battery pack in my camera bag, and it worked flawlessly. As long as the USB battery pack was charged, I could keep charging camera batteries all day.For a cheap, no-brand bit of kit, I am very happy. I half expected it to be fussy about what batteries I put in it, or even to pack up entirely after a few days, but several months and a lot of use later it's still going. This is now my go-to battery charger, as I can connect it to the USB charging hub on my desk, rather than having to fish out a figure eight lead to plug the official charger into.

Ideal travel companion
This is a dinky little charger in which the Sony NP-BX1 battery fits perfectly. The Sony charger I have been using for some time has broken so I borrowed another Sony to test the Lemix charger against. When the Lemix charger indicated full charge on a couple of batteries I found that the Sony charger would continue charging, by about another 25%. The Lemix charger is described as a travel charger and its small size makes it ideal to carry around, and its performance is good for this purpose. What is not known is how long it will last (and even the Sony chargers, which cost at least 4 times more, give up eventually) but for now I see it as a very good buy for the money.

Great
Affordable and does the job. I don’t use it often as I have only two batteries, but when I do is in handy. This is my second purchase, first one I lost it somewhere, but likely the price is reasonable and ordered it again.

This is excellent and hits the mark for what I need - ...
Don't even consider the Sony official alternative. After recently purchasing my RX100M4, I decided to purchase 2 additional non branded batteries and figured I would grab a USB Charger too. This is excellent and hits the mark for what I need - A Small easy to store charger. Build quality is surprisingly good for such a cheap product and while it doesn't actually come with a Plug, it does come with a short USB cable which you can use with any USB charging plug such as your phone charger. This does exactly what it needs to do, its also light enough you wouldn't notice it in my camera bag and small enough to not get in the way.

Rubbish
Rubbish. Didn't fit the Sony battery that it was suppose to charge.

Very light & compact ...
So much smaller and lighter than photo presents, which is great as it's going on international flights. Another plus is having 2 different camcorders and I bought this charger for ONE of them to charge a FV50 battery, it actually takes and charges the battery for the other one too which I think is a FH one so bonus. It's for my 13yr old son and I thought he might struggle to get the batteries in and out of position as it's a little fiddly getting the placement right and you have to be more forceful that you like to be with such a light piece of equipment. But several practises with just enough force and he had it down pat. Highly recommend.
