I have just bought a 1lb bag and thought there might be mixing instructions on the label, Would anyone like to share ratios?

Hi Gavin, when i mixed the kava waka i prepared it by mixing approximately two and half tablespoons per 8 ounces of water for a stronger brew. When i first started drinking kava i did not feel results right away, in fact the first night was a failure and due to the awful taste it was hard to go back the following night. More and more though i felt the effects due to the kavalactones being built up in my system. I also notice i have much better results on an empty stomach than if i ate dinner first. Be sure to listen to some chill music and have the lights down low as well. Your eyes will be more sensitive to light which could take away from the experience. Best of luck - danny

Is drinking the best way? What about putting it in size 000 capsules?

I use to eat raw spoonfuls, still makes me gag thinking about it. I now use a cheap 100 capsule machine to put it in 00 capsules. I use this brand, and start off with 20 caps. 2 hours later I take 10 more.. and so on for how ever long I want it to last. That's alot to swallow, but far better (as far as taste) than the alternatives. Like, gag me with a spoon dude.

Can you put this in vaporizer e-juiice and smoke it?

No. Kava is a centuries old ceremonial preparation of the dried and pulverized roots. It is consumed by drinking it. Any attempt to smoke it would prove to be most unpleasant, besides destroying the active kavalatones. Since this particular Kava is finely ground, you can mix with tepid water, not overly warm, and allow the powder to infuse for approximately 30 minutes or so. Then put it into a blender, or I use a hand blender for 30-60 seconds. Pour slowly through a medium meshed strainer, using a spoon to force remaining liquid through the pulp and enjoy! You can strain it twice if the residual powder isn't to your liking, but there are kavalactones in it that can retain more potency. Stirring before each sip will remedy this, and is not harmful. In fact, the fiber is good for you. If you consume alcohol, I'd skip it for at least a day or so. They don't mix well, and nausea could result. I Hope this information is helpful to you. Kava generally speaking is an acquired taste. Pacific Islanders use coconut milk traditionally. However, it's pretty expensive here in the continental US and elsewhere. What's the difference between the root one kneades & the instant powder other than ease of use?

The instant powder is ground up so fine that you ingest the root in the water. With the traditional kava, you only drink the liquid and throw out the root after you make the drink. I find the instant kava harder to drink. It tastes worse and it’s thicker. You don’t have to knead the traditional kava if you buy a shaker bottle. Just look up “kava maker.” You can drink traditional kava without all the extra work.
