Nice component, fills the need.
Worked perfectly on the 4 I have used so far. The male barrel I insert into it doesn’t seem to go all the way in. But I suspect that has to do with the barrels not the female socket.I have built 3 lithophane display boxes, that need to power LED strips inside the display cube. I mounted the power socket on the side. Works great.

OK but cheaply made
These get the job done but I have to admit they are pretty cheaply made. Sometimes the nuts don't tighten correctly and too much heat will melt them. I use a fair number of these and price is important so they pass muster but barely.

Surprisingly Well Made
Got these to use as power jacks for guitar pedals. I bought some jacks earlier that were all metal but the outer jacket of the plug (positive) made contact with the chassis, so they didn't work out. I needed something that would insulate both poles from the housing so I went with this plastic one. Here's what I thought:Pros: Well constructed. The plastic feels really high quality and the metal nuts are machined nicely and don't feel cheap. I expect these jacks to last a long time, if not forever.Cons: Not many. Only thing I can think of is these require you to solder after mounting due to the threads being towards the back of the jack instead of the front. All in all, great product. I plan to buy again once I'm done with these.

Well made and cheap with a very tight grip.
Well-made and inexpensive. You can’t beat these for the price. They perform perfectly and look good, but they grip your plugs very tightly so you’ll need to use a good deal of force to plug things in. They seem durable enough to handle the abuse, just make sure that you’re mounting them to a material that can also handle a little extra strain.

Fit and work great. No instructions which can be expected but for those who buy it and FYI. The short tab is the center post and the long tab is the outer contact.

Poor Fit
These jacks were easy to install, and they look good. However, male plugs fit them poorly. The first jack I installed never would make contact through the center pin. Continuity checks were good for the central pin and its wire connection; it just wouldn't make contact with the male plug. The second jack I installed finally made contact, but the insertion of the male plug just doesn't seem correct; I have to force it hard in order for an effective contact. I've tried different makes of male plugs; I'm convinced the problem is with the female jack.

Not very accurate.
The right number of units arrived in good time and were solidly made. Unfortunately they are very tight to use with the relevant plugs having to be pushed a bit too hard into and out of the socket. Tolerances are a bit off spec. They do work but fingers crossed that I don't start breaking plugs.

Too short, difficult to push plug in
The plug sticks out when fully inserted into these. In projects that I've given to other people, they assumed my circuit was broken because of the faulty connection that happens when you dont insert the plug fully into this, and it's difficult to know where that is given the jack is so tight and short. Wouldn't recommend, go with those big ugly rubber ones instead.

Okay, couldn’t use it for what I needed.
The plastic melted when I was soldering on the wire, I tried with two different sockets with the same result. I will be sending back unfortunately.
