Whoever invented this is absolutely genius!!!! A few years ago I was almost paralyzed on my right side from a car accident, I’m right handed, and I have TWO 90+lb. pit bulls that I take for walks, sometimes they see other animals and would jolt after them and it would kill my arm, shoulder and neck. This awesome leash is seriously saving my life now!!!! There’s barely any pull!!!! Although I do wish it didn’t have to be a bungee “connector” I wish it was all one leash, so the heavy part wouldn’t drag in the middle...but honestly, with how amazing the product actually works, I really could care less if the middle part is a little heavy and drags sometimes! This leash is worth every penny!!!*EDIT* The company emailed me after I received the package and asked how everything was...long story short...they’re amazing. Absolutely impeccable customer service!!!! IF YOURE THINKING ABOUT BUYING IT, DO IT!!!! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!!!!!!

Works really well for my pitty/american bulldog mix who is 60 lbs of pure muscle and pulls like no other. It reduces sudden jerks and makes it so much easier to walk him. I originally got it for hiking so he doesn't pull me down slopes, but I haven't tested it out on any trails yet. I attached the bungee to my own leash that is 4 ft and thicker than the one it comes with, just because the thicker rope is easier to grab and he's broken thinner ones before. The short handle is amazing. It's at perfect hand height and is so useful when I need to pull him close to avoid other dogs/people. Only thing is the bungee is heavy, so probably not a good idea for dogs under 50 or 60 lbs.

The media could not be loaded.  We have had retractable leashes but our dog has managed to break them. What I love most is that when Athena try’s to take off the bungee helps on the pull.I love that there are two options in 1 leash of how far or close you’d like to walk her.Def recommend if your dog is medium sized or larger

Awesome Buy. I prefer leashes with Bungee. My youngest Boxer (55 lbs) likes to try to take off after Squirrels aka "Gods Tennis Balls" when I walk her. This combined with a Morning-gale collar helps correct her while saving my shoulder. The bungee adsorbs a lot of the sudden jerk. I love that this leash has the long handle for walks and the short grip for when I want to keep the Puppy close.Finally, I bought another leash that was part bungee last year. One leash was $30. This leash is half the cost of the other leash. This leash is also constructed much better. I have a feeling it will be a few years before I replace this leash. When I do need another leash I am defiantly getting another one of these.I highly recommend and can't say enough good things about this leash.

I ordered this leash to replace our old one which is looking ratty. Since we live downtown I need to hold my dog on a short leash often (crossing streets/make him look "tough"/passing excited dogs, etc...) so I shopped around for a leash that offered a handle as well.Unfortunalty, this product will not work for us.For our needs this product has a couple design flaws that I can't look past.The first issue I have is that the leash is actually two seperate leashes. I am not sure how I missed that before ordering. The two pieces clip together with a very sturdy bolt snap. I would never walk my dog with just the short end since the handle would be only right on his neck... Being an absolutely crazy dog mom I worry about literally any possible situation that could happen and one of those thoughts was how my dog could get unclipped from the other end of his leash. TOTALLY NOT LIKELY, but I already but the thought in my head, so it's stuck... (I ADMIT IT'S A CRAZY THOUGHT!)The other issue is where the two pieces clip together hits my dog in the back knee. I'm sure it would be mildly annoying to have a metal buckle hitting you during your walk, but the major issue is that my dog has had surgeries on his back leg and does not need any additional stress on it. It's not going to cause any harm, but it's not cool.I am so sad this product didn't work for us, because IT IS VERY HIGH QUALITY materials and seems very sturdy. The blue is super pretty and looked great, but that isn't enough for me to keep it.I wont be returning this product, but rather donating it to a shelter. It may be fabulous for another family, but not us.I hope some tweaks are made to this design in the future- I would totally give it another chance.

I have only had it for a few weeks so far but I really like it. My dog will occasionally chew on it and it doesn't take damage from it. I like that there is the bungee function for when my dog needs to be pulled away from something/someone and it isn't as harsh and choking of a sensation for him. The lower portion of the leash seems semi reflective but I would not say its super reflective. That does not take away from the function and quality of the product at all though.I was worried about the leash being two pieces but I actually have come to like it a lot. Makes it super easy to tie my dog up to a bench or poll if I need to run into a building to drop off a package or grab some take out.

absolutely rubbish. cuts ibto your hand, no control over our dog. very disappointed waste of money would like a refund and return if possible even though used

Good to avoid shoulder/back injuries as a dog pulls. In combination with no pull harness it's great. More length options would be good.

I've got a 65lb Husky-German Shepard cross who seems to think that because he's only half Husky he needs to pull twice as hard as any other Husky, all the time. Heck, sometimes it seems like he thinks he is the replacement for a whole sled dog team. And having a high prey drive, anytime he sees any animal smaller than himself, he then pulls a whole lot harder. Cats, dogs, rabbits, ground hogs, foxes, even birds. (Fortunately, he had the good sense to turn around and walk away when we came across a Coyote den...) Anyway, I'm 6ft and 185lbs and anytime he sees a 'snack', if I didn't brace myself, he could pull me over. So that is what the leash had to deal with.Anyway, I thought this harness would help me deal with the incessant pulling and it did. It did it really well. I was actually quite surprised at how much it helped. For the first three months or so. Unfortunately, after that the bungee cord part of the harness failed so it lost all its shock absorbing ability. I suspected that the bungee wouldn't survive his incessant pulling so I wasn't surprised when it happened. The leash is still intact and I continue to use it every day.Despite the failure of the bungee, I'm still impressed with this leash. It's very well made with quality materials. The covering over the handle loop is comfortable on my hand despite the constant pulling. The wire inside the bungie cord section is still holding strong so I have no concern about the leash failing and having to explain to my neighbour why their cat is deceased...Someone commented that their dog found it too heavy. I agree that it is heavy where the two parts are joined but only because of what appears to be a very strong steel connector which leaves me quite confident that it is not going to ever fail. My dog never shows any sign of noticing the weight at all, but that's probably because he is too busy pulling to notice except the rabbit across the street.

I'm editing my last review. I had previously purchased this leash for my puppy and was disappointed that the elastic had snapped after only a few months. After sharing my experience with this leash, SparklyPets contacted me and immediately refunded my money, sent me a brand new leash and requested I keep the old leash too. The customer service of this company is spot on and I am very grateful for the new leash they sent me. It is the perfect length and being able to remove the elastic portion makes it very versatile for different activities we do with our pup.

My dog likes to pull so we bough this leash and it %100 helps. As soon as he feels a bit of tension from the suspension in the leash he does slow down, however the weight of the leash from the clips in the middle do seem to bother him every once in a while. Leash has high quality material, comfy handle, a nice carry bag and amazing colour options, you can’t go wrong. BUY IT! I don’t think wear and tear will soon opt me to need to buy this leash again any time soon, but I will be purchasing it again if it goes missing or it could also make a good gift for friends with new pets!
