## Questions & Answers

**Q: how wide are the steps?**
A: I have the 20 foot version, I don't know exactly, the parallel steps are 12 or 16 inches which would make each step 6-8". I am just over 6' and 210 - wear a size 10 shoe. I have never felt unstable or like my feet did not have enough room on each step even with boots on. This is a very good product.

**Q: How far away from the base of the tree do you start with the first section of a 20 footer?**
A: You start at the bottom. As you put the first 2 bottom sections together, it will pre determine how far away from the base of the tree you start at, as the first 2 supports rest against the tree trunk.

**Q: How far apart are the steps ?**
A: 11”. We reduced the distance compared to traditional climbing sticks to make it waisted to ascend and descend the tree.

**Q: What is the Weight limit?**
A: I weigh 185 and didn’t feel the ladder moved at all. It’s extremely sturdy I believe the weight restriction is 300 lbs

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Great Replacement for Climbing Sticks
*by S***T on October 9, 2018*

Bottom Line Up Front: Overbuilt (also very heavy), well designed (did I mention heavy), and an alternative to ladder stands. It also eliminates the 'falling backwards' feeling of climbing sticks. If you can get past the heavy weight, these are great. I'll be replacing my traditional climbing sticks with these because the trade-off is worth it for me.This thing is built from thicker gauge steel than any ladder stand or climbing stick I've ever owned, including Millennium, and Summit. Welds all look even and uniform (they're painted). If you can get past the weight, the rigidity from using stronger steel is worth it. I am not worried about leaving them out for as many seasons as I want to. The stand is also relatively quiet, and definitely quieter than thinner gauge ladder stands. Why someone else didn't come up with this idea before is a mystery. The design is simple. The 20' stick (they also make a 16') has a bracket that swings out near the top of each of the five 4' sections and is locked in place with a quick attach locking pin. Each of the sticks seats into the one below it and then is locked onto the tree with a ratchet strap. The bracket gets shorter on each stick so that the whole thing leans closer to the tree as you get higher. The bottom section has a base that digs into the ground to secure the stick from moving.I have a fear of heights. Climbing ladder stands has never been an issue, but using my climbing sticks, especially installing them on the tree, has always been uncomfortable. at best Anyone who uses climbing sticks understands the 'falling backwards' feeling you get when using them. This ladder stick eliminates that feeling completely. You will still need a lineman's belt to install these on the tree and there's no way around a little uneasiness during installation. There is some looseness on each section until you attach the ratchet strap, but it's only that one section that's loose. The sections below it, the ones you are standing on that are already strapped to the tree, are rock solid. This product is a night and day improvement over regular climbing sticks. So what's the bad news? Weight, a whole lot of it The 20' version has five sections that are each 4' long. The combined weight is nearly 50lbs. The other issue is size. At 4' long, you aren't maneuvering through thick brush with these strapped to a frame pack. But if you can get this stick to your stand location on a game cart, ATV, or piece by piece, it is worth the effort. I loaded them on a game cart and pulled them about a mile over hilly terrain because I thought it was worth the effort. When you add up the cost of 3-4 climbing sticks to get to this height, the price is competitive. I'll be buying another 1 or 2 of these after the season's over and eventually, replace all but 1 set of portable/fold up climbing sticks with them.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value... but ratchet strap broke upon removal
*by M***L on August 25, 2019*

The ladder came together easily, and was very sturdy when fastened to the tree. The issue I had was in the takedown. The ratchet straps that fasten the ladder sections to the tree were difficult to remove, and one of them broke / bent while descending / removing from the tree.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Climbing Sticks I’ve ever owned!!!! Hands Down
*by L***N on January 2, 2020*

I’ve owned and used about every set of climbing sticks, ladders and steps out there on the market. After seeing these Hurricane climbing sticks at the ATA Archery Trade Show I decided to give them a try. Hands down the best thing I’ve ever done. These climbing sticks aren’t the lightest by far, but they are highly dependable and built like a tank. The forward climbing system is absolutely safer than anything else I’ve used and they are rock solid and absolutely no shaking or wobbling. The Hurricane climbing sticks assembled very easily and all parts were packed and included as they should be.Overall I’d highly recommend these climbing sticks to anyone looking for safe, solid built, Inexpensive and a great design. I will have these on every setup across 4 states for now on.
