Aim your mirror up to the sky and notice where the tab for the lamp is close to the middle of the mirror. Use a pry tool or flathead screwdrivers to work the tab and the mirror housing that surrounds the lamp to get the old one out. Unplug old, clean up contacts, plug in new. Use the screwdrivers to create a workable gap between the mirror housing halves while you work the lamp into position starting closer to the cab and getting the tab to slot. The truck is spreading the back half of the housing to give clearance to the rear edge of the lamp. Easy job. Looks good. Works so far. Cheap!

The puddle light works great, but the turn signal does not work at all. The unit is a good replacement fit and looks good, although a little challenging to install. It took about 30 minutes, but that time was wasted since the turn signal does not work. Will return.

The product is roughly $100 less than you would pay for a new OEM replacement. It wasn't perfect, had an imperfection within the lamp housing itself, but because it is on the bottom of the fixture, it isn't noticeable. So far it works great. Replaced a broken lamp on my 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn truck.A word to the wise, no matter what you read on the internet, replacing this fixture is not simple. Takes some patience, planning and care. And replacing it by taking the whole housing apart is the only way to do this. If you try to pry it out, you can break something and not realize it. Several plastic fittings inside this housing that are easily broken. I found the best instructions to do it was on the Dodge Ram 1500 diesel Forum under Puddle Lamp Replacement. Step by step with diagrams. All the instructions I found missed the same variable; however, when you remove and reinstall the mirror, there are 4 snap fittings on the mounting platform and back of the mirror. Not just 2 on the bottom with 2 long metal rods at the top. So, in total there are 6 snap fittings or brackets that need to be lined up and snapped into place when you re-install it and dealt with when you remove it. Take your time and gently apply even pressure on the top of the mirror with your hands, increasing the pressure until it pops off the top 4 fittings. Then after pushing the mounting platform up, remove the bottom 2 snap brackets. There are several videos which show how to do some of this on the internet, but none of them were complete. Had to watch several to get a complete installation picture, and they all missed the top snap brackets on the mirror mounting platform.Having said all of that, I would do this procedure again, saves lots of money, but be aware you must be careful and think it through. You could make a real mess if you don't.
