Works perfectly, just follow the instructions
Perfect egg a la coque following the (very clear) instructions. Light and compact, perfect to take with me at work (we have a microwave) and cook when needed. Easy and fast. Hot egg for lunch at work feels like a luxury. Pleased with the purchase.

Brilliant
This review is fir the JOIE single egg microwave boiler. Took some confidence to use the egg piercer but with that achieved, it's the best gadget I've bought in ages. A 3-minute prefect soft boiled egg with no fuss.

Not as good as a pan of water.
Works fairly well but gets very hot so watch your hands. Needs longer than instructions stipulate. Feet melted onto microwave plate so be careful.

Good Points, does eggs great - You will have ...
The item took quite a while to arrive as it is shipped from the USA. Good Points, does eggs great - You will have to experiment to get the right amount of time for the size egg you use and how you like them. I use large eggs and like the yolk to be runny. In my 850W microwave it takes about 3 mins 15 seconds ( i use just boiled water out of the kettle, not cold water). Bad points As the instructions state, when this comes out of the microwave it will be VERY hot, which means using a cloth or glove. When you try to set the "egg" down it only has two small feet so it tends to fall over. The main issue I have is the plastic is very smooth so unscrewing the two halves is not easy .

Lovely perfect boiled eggs.
In the past I have bought two other Joie Microwave Egg boilers, now this one. All of my others were used constantly and I just fancied a spanking new one, as the one I am using at the moment is looking faded and old...but still working perfectly. I shall keep him for spare! The 'Boiley' works perfectly for me and my husband. For us it is a 4mins 30 secs egg!. Everyone needs to find the right time for themselves. I have noticed that quite a few folks state that 'Boiley' when removed from the microwave is too hot to handle. I have never found this a problem as if the egg feels too hot to remove from 'Boiley' , then use a tea towel. It's only a moment of movement from 'Boiley' to the egg cup! I wouldn't be without my Joie Boiley, and I class it as an indispensable piece of equipment in my kitchen.

Not the best!
Like many other gadgets I've had recently the two plastic parts don't locate properly when you try to close them. This is almost universal nowadays with this type of cheaper plastic item. Not the main complaint however. It just didn't boil eggs further than soft and runny , including the whites. The instructions specified 3.5 minutes for medium eggs on 1000 watts. Ok I had large size eggs and 800watt microwave. So I set it to 5 minutes : soft and runny including the whites. 6 minutes : soft and runny including the whites. 7 minutes : soft and runny including the whites. So it's obviously not going to boil a large egg properly on 800 Watt microwave. I won't waste any more eggs on this, as there is absolutely no improvement with increases in time. The manufacturer needs to specify better the capabilities of their product. A table of egg size v power v time would be useful. Also if it is no use on any less than 1000 watts say so. Update: I wrote the above but hadn't submitted it before I saw that another reviewer said to use hot water. So I retrieved the boiler from the bin. A further series of experiments resulted in the following findings for my large size eggs in my 800 watt microwave: 1. Don't use eggs from the fridge -room temperature only. 2. Use hot water. I use water from the boiling water tap. 3. It takes much longer than 3.5 minutes I found at 6 minutes the yolk and white were runny 7 minutes the egg was hard boiled 6m 30s yolk was slightly runny white was solid. So many variables!! Is it worth the bother, and wastage of eggs? Since I managed to eventually get an eatable boiled egg. I added a star. I now give it 2*.

Folks, an excellent mircowave egg 🥚 boiler.
Well Folks an excellent egg boiler. I put my 800w mircowave oven on for four minutes and the egg white was clear and runny, so I put another egg on for five and a half minutes and the egg yolk was perfect for me, the egg yolk was slightly soft.

No problems at all...
When I bought this little kitchen gadget a few weeks back, I was very apprehensive. Reviews here on Amazon made me worried about its safety. Then tonight, I wanted a boiled egg fast, and thought I'd give h Boiley a try. I filled up the water to the indicated line (not taking into account any displacement of fluid), poked a hole into the base of the egg and placed it upside down (hole facing up) into the boiler. I put my microwave on 3.5 minutes, walked away and despite all my apprehension, no problem occured. No explosion, the egg was intact. The egg, as I am eating it now, is perfectly soft-boiled. What I did notice, however, and this might be one of the problems people are experiencing, is that when you poke a hole into the egg, the shell tends to form a flap that can close on itself. For my second egg, I poked the hole a few times and the flap wasn't raised when I took the egg out. My only explanation for the apparent problem is, that in some cases the shell flaps back up and plugs the air hole, leading to a pressure buildup and explosion of the egg. Anyhow, I hope people can enjoy this wonderful gadget in peace and safety.

Funziona molto bene!

SIMPLISSIME + GAIN ENERGETIQUE !!!! 👍👍👍
