Abstract Embroidery: Slow stitching with texture, colour and creativity

Great for inspiration, but not really a "how to:
I mainly buy embroidery books for inspiration, and the work in this book is stand out extraordinary. It is exactly what I wanted and I'm so pleased I bought it. It does strike me, however, that it isn't very prescriptive - it is for people who want to do something similar and there are no patterns, only guidelines. It can just be enjoyed, however, for the sheer beauty of the work.

Nice
to look at but not as inspirational as I had hoped - all a bit samey, including the round frame format. Therefore, at £16, I find it overpriced.

Inspiring
Some interesting effects included and much to inspire a reader. Maybe since I wear glasses but I found it hard to really see the stitches on Emily's completed work. Her work is beautiful and printing photos onto fabric first does mean you can highlight areas with embellishment. But the photography didn't zoom in close enough to truly see finer detail for me. Beautifully presented book though and do like it's square shape, somehow easier to hold!

Beautiful
I follow salt stitches on Instagram and brought this because her work is stunning but sadly a little out of my price range (you can see hours and hours of work has gone into it). The book is a lovely up close look at her stunning works of art

Very repetitive photography.
Love the works and interesting design process but photography incredibly repetitive. One project shown 8 times (full, completed view)!

O processo abstrato.

Inspiring and practical
This book made me realise that designing and making my own landscapes was doable following the emboiderer’s approach of using a few versatile stitches and printed backgrounds. Love how her work abstracts patterns from nature and translates using satin and turkey stitch. Excellent book with lots of images. Love it. Already started my own design inspired by this.

NOT formatted properly for Kindle. VERY poor user experience.
The "ebook" for this title is nothing more than a scan of a two-page spread. You cannot read the text or see the photographs because it is all teeny tiny. It won't even load onto my Kindle Oasis - it just returns an error and states incompatibility. I tried to return the ebook so I could purchase a physical copy of the book, but it will not allow me to do this. I would love to read the book, it looks like I would really enjoy the content. If only I could read it... I downloaded it to my Kindle reader on my iPad and it was so frustrating that I gave up. I feel cheated.
