ASTOUNDING QUALITY - REALLY ARE WARM WHITE!
Absolutely astounded by how warm and bright these are in comparison to other brands. If you are like me and are adversely affected by cold, ugly, sterile, depressing cool white lights then look no further! My dad kept ordering cheap, cool white LED candle bulbs because apparently you can't buy brighter warm white LED bulbs (yes I disagreed too). Admittedly this purchase was to prove a point but now he want's to replace all of our existing blue/white LED bulbs with Philips Warm white.Pros - Bright, warm, great light scattering, reach full brightness instantly with no warm up time, bulb does not get hot, energy efficient and dimmable.Cons - could be a little cheaper but at this quality I don't mind paying a bit more!

Finally! A decent alternative to halogen candle bulbs
I've been looking for a low energy/LED alternative for candle bulbs for a long time, and I've tried loads of different ones, mainly of the low energy type and they were just rubbish. They lasted a few weeks, and didn't respond well to dimming. But finally I came across these, and they are the PERFECT alternative. They give off exactly the same amount of light as a 42W Halogen, and it's spread just as evenly, unlike some LED bulbs which have a very concentrated beam. And one massive bonus is they respond perfectly to a standard dimmer switch.I still have some halogen bulbs in the light fitting alongside this one, as I'm replacing them as they go, and you'd be hard pushed to spot the difference between them. The only slight niggle is the white bit on the bottom 3rd of the bulb which some people might think doesn't look great, but it's a very minor thing which you soon wont notice.

Flickering and buzzing
They start off well. Nice light and energy efficient. However when dimmed to any level they start to buzz. Then as they get warmer the flickering starts. Together they just make for an annoying experience. So much so I put back in the lamp supplied C rated bulbs so I could dim them without the noise and flickering. Very disappointing given I use Philips ecomoods lights and bulbs elsewhere without issue. These bulbs however are not worth the premium.

Great product - very bright
This is exactly what I was looking for, a dimmable led bulb that you can just install in the same place where you have your normal bulbs without adding any adaptor or any fancy led dimmer. And looks really nice. Keep in mind that 40W is a lot, very bright, even you adjust the dimmer to minimum, so I bought only 1 to try, then I bought 23 W. 40W in lower setting looks like a 23W in max.

I wouldn't call them 'dimmable'
It's definitely great, they feel solid/high quality. But.. yes, there's a but :P When I tried dimming them (with a 3 setting dimmable lamp) the buzzing noise was extremely annoying. I tried this with 2 completely different lamps with the same result :(When I tried it in a 'normal' on or off lamp, it worked perfectly. Really bright (definitely around a traditional 40w bulb :) )

Buzz like crazy… not the usual Philips quality!
Really disappointed by Philips this time around, bought a few of these bulbs for a 3 stage touch dimmable lamp from John Lewis. Some buzzed like crazy, and the one that didn’t I couldn’t find a pair for. Gave up and went with some Brimax bulbs which were a bit cheaper. Will see how they do over time! As a positive these did dim well and were nice and bright and nice and warm when dim, just drove us crazy with the sound!

Arrived earlier than promised and worked like a charm!
My bedside lamp originally had three different levels of brightness, but over the space of a couple of days first the brightest level, then the second level, stopped working, leaving only the dimmest level working. This new bulb restored the light to three levels of brightness! Not only that, but the light bulb arrived a day earlier than predicted!

The service was excellent, however
Light output is disappointingly weak - too much so for the room I selected to try the LED lights. The service was excellent, however, and I think these new light bulbs will take a while for one to adjust to their output.
