Very sturdy, installation was simple, can easily withstand whatever you throw at it.This rack was an upgrade to a small 4'x4' on my Rav4 that was still pretty robust. Middle section of rack does hang a little lower however thats just esthetics, functionality wise the middle the front or end are firm and don't sway.The only con for me is the screws around the perimeter stick out and could snag your cargo when loading. Could possibly upgrade it to pan head screws. Secondly, which is totally my fault, make sure to inspect the hardware for the clamps. Tighten after every load as they are small for the rack so they could loosen as mine did, Safety first!Ratchets and net are throw ins but best to get better ratchet, they do their job if not heavy cargo. 250lbs! For sure this can withstand the heavy load. We throw bins, canopies, chairs, even occasionally strollers up there it yawns at whatever we throw up there.Overall, totally recommend this rack to friends and family. Warning though you will get frequent compliments on it, first compliment we got was from a lady; "Nice rack, very big, been meaning to get it that big" she said.

The media could not be loaded. I was a little worried this would be too flimsy when I ordered it but gave it a shot anyways. Not an issue. Solid heavy frame. Connections are strong. Install was easy.

I read reviews that this product was hard to assemble. I had no issues with the assembly, however there was a manufacturing issue and the coating wasn’t done correctly on the back and already had rust forming. I took photos and called their customer service on Monday am when they opened and WOW. They replaced the item in less than 5 minutes and are sending a new one.I will say the fit is great, the damage is being replaced and I am happy!I will update as I load on it and travel with my replacement!

Installed this rack onto my Yakima Whispbar roof rails and it works great. Fits on my 2012 Land Rover LR2 roof and still allows us to crack the sunroof for a little air. Makes whistling wind noise on the freeway but not too bad. Holds a lot of stuff and so far has worked for a few roadtrips!

I bought this rack with high expectations. Nope. It's cheap and now my SUV looks ugly. It should be painted with mate black paint but no, the paint is glossy. It has been on my SUV roof for three days and it's already showing signs of rust here and there. I will use it for what I bought it and then will throw it away. By the way, it came early in a teared box and with clear signs of being a returned product. If you can pay some more money, try another roof basket.

This cartop carrier was absolutely perfect for our 20 hour trip across the United States! It is not too heavy and the size of it is just right for easily removing it at each hotel stay. It fit perfectly in the back of our SUV for safe storing overnight. Having all of the accessories for securing it to the carrier is an added bonus. pics say it all, nothing a hammer didn’t realign. Hope to god it’s decent enough steel to hold up if I was able to get it to work with a fair amount of swings.

Assembly was rough, as one post was flattened (shaped like "D" flat on one side) and the post it's self was bent inward. To fix it I chipped off some paint, so now it may rust in those spots. I panicked because I bought it a few months ago for a couple trips this summer. We managed to get it together now I don't know where I will store it because I certainly don't want to take it apart again. LoL. When I was assembling it to my roof I noticed the metal bar, which points upward, would dig into my gear so I assembled it with the points facing downward. "DO NOT DO THIS!!!" They are ment to face up! Which does suck because they will dig into my gear. But facing downward they will loosen, then you will lose the very important rubber pieces on the highway. And while flying along at 140k singing at the top of your lungs, the entire rack full of camping gear, will slide back and forth scaring the "$#!π" out of you and your 16 yo daughter! Then you will be at the ferry terminal looking for your ratchet straps. It was still screwed on so was not going to fly off, the ratchet straps just kept it still. Aside from that, I can honestly say this was the easiest it has ever been to pack my camping gear. I wish I had a rack years ago! So easy to just put everything on top. I strapped it down with some great lashing straps I bought here on Amazon, then a tarp, then the net. So easy! I did not have to play Tetris stuffing everything into the car. I recommend, and will be adding, locking washers to the assembly. Now I have to figure out how to replace the missing parts.

Size of this cargo carrier is excellent. Quality of the parts is low however, which was expected for the price, so you simply must be proactive in removing it from your vehicle between uses or it will start to rust, immediately. The coating on the rack itself is ok, but the bolts holding it all together are the lowest quality. I would have preferred paying more and having stainless, or at least better quality coatings. I do remove the cargo carrier between each use, it's not too much work really as the rack isn't too heavy. Would be nice to not have to do this though, ultimately, so for this, I gave it a 3 star rating.
