It's incredibly sturdy, padded with silky plush fabric inside. The guitar body fits perfectly, and for my particular guitar there is about 5-6 inches of space above the headstock. It has four very sturdy clips to hold the lid down, and one of these clips has a wee lock, which probably would only deter a toddler, but it looks nice.
