Awesome little guide as a companion book to the series
4.5 I've recently joined The Wingfeather Saga by reading the first two volumes (of the 5 available).A Ranger's Guide to Glipwood Forest is the perfect add-on/ companion guide to this series which is also an animated series. Whimsical and humourous writing. Amazing characters: foes and allies.I wanted to be a GORG too (from the GlimpWood Official Ranger Guild)and explore this amazing forest, characters, tools, herbs, plants, and tips for discounts eheh. With different areas, there is so much to learn about each. I wanted to visit the Fingap Observery. "... a bookish and fanatical bunch of sea waters and star mappers, but they're nice enough. They also make a delectable glipp chowder (which you might be able to sample at a discount if you mention me)"If you never read this series this is a great teaser that will make you jump into the series without a doubt. I love the covers and illustrations a lot. If you have read this series, this is a great add-on to collect."Are you Edible? If the answer to this question is yes, then you'll want to take extra care before you embark on your journey. (Trust me the answer is yes)"Could have been a pick-your-next-page-tiny-adventure. Just an idea.Got a copy from a giveaway.

Another Fun Wingfeather Resource
** “This guide will get you from one end of the forest to the other, but it also aims to tell you the particulars of the assembly of the first rangers and some of our adventures in the deepest, darkest clutch of trees in all of Skree.” **Readers can return to the Wingfeather Saga world with “A Ranger’s Guide to Glipwood Forest,” a resource that will help its reader travel throughout the Glipwood Forest, as well as the history of the Glipwood Official Rangers Guild (GORG).Translated from the original by the saga’s original author, Andrew Peterson, “A Ranger’s Guide” returns us to Peterson’s fantastic world. Written by Owin Groverly and “embellished with nifty pictures by Owin’s son, Chonis Ponius Groverly, with assistance from Aeden Peterson, master of sketchery,” it begins with a foreword by Ollister B. Pembrick who reveals he found this book in his search of how to explore the Glipwood Forest and its essence.Groverly reveals how he and eight others founded the GORG and created this guide, which reveals locations throughout the forest, like Trollright Stones, created by prehistoric troll actions; Brobby’s Folly, where Snickbuzzards lay their eggs; and Foot Rub Creek. He shares many examples of plants that can be found within the forest, some helpful and some harmful, as well as different creatures, including the rockroach and the toothy cow.“A Ranger’s Guide to Glipwood Forest” is another fun resource within the Wingfeather Saga, adding to readers’ understanding and appreciation of locations, creatures and plants within that world.Five stars out of five. This is my honest, unbiased review.

Great for fans of the series
This travel guide through the dangerous and wondrous Glipwood Forest was written by one of the founding members of the Glipwood Official Rangers Guild (GORG). Not only does he share the best and safest (relatively speaking) path through the forest, he also tells of how he met each of the other original eight members of the GORG.I really wasn’t sure what this book would be like when I first picked it up, and it turned out to be a really fun, quick read. The humor and whimsy of the original series can be found throughout this book. At times I felt like Andrew Peterson was making up as outlandish of names and descriptions of items as he could to try to stump his son, who drew sketches of Glipwood Forest flora as well as the members of the GORG for the book. I particularly loved the sketches of Owin and Chonis Ponius Groverly, the “in-world” author and illustrator of the guidebook. Fans of The Wingfeather Saga will enjoy this return to the land of Skree, with many references to locations they’ll remember from the series.

I've only gotten to do a brief leaf-through the book, but the artwork is phenomenal! The art alone is a feature that makes this book worth enjoying!

Fun Read!
A Ranger's Guide to Glipwood Forest is a fun addition to the world of Wingfeather! Set in the Glipwood Forest, it tells tales of the rangers who have tried to tame the wild lands. It's a quick read, sure to give the reader a few laughs and leave you satisfied you've learned a bit more about the world of Aerwiar. The illustrations were so incredibly detailed and brought the characters and the plants to life!

Highly Entertaining Companion to the Wingfeather series
The companion guide to The Wingfeather Saga by the same author, readers will be treated to part map, part history, and part travel guide. Fans of the series will eat up every page of this delightful book! The origin (and adventures) of the Glipwood Official Rangers Guild (GORG) offers fresh insight into the series. With this guide in hand, readers will feel like they are actually traveling through Glipwood. Complete with a beast guide, travelers will be well prepared to face all the dangers they may encounter. Landmarks and how they were named are also covered in this book along with a glossary of suggested gear to be fully prepared.Love the author's creativity in building the world of the Wingfeather series. With this step-by-step guide through the forest, I hope children will be inspired to explore their own forests with an equal measure of creativity and imagination.
