Works perfectly!
Bought this to replace the starter on my Weber Q200 which died years ago. Installed easy, fit perfect, and lights grill on first press. Happy to get rid of battery powered starter... This should be more reliable. Cheap fix!

piezo not electronic
item as described. search youtube for "how to replace starter on weberQ" and replacing my old starter was a breeze really. a flat head and a 3/8th (?) wrench was all that was needed. one caveat and this reflects my ignorance, not a problem with the item received, but note this is a piezo (eg it is mechanical action, like a flint on stone) and not an electronic (eg push a button and multiple sparks fly, the click click click sound) starter. Hence, each time you push the button a loud click and a single spark. The starter I was replacing was electronic and required a battery so not the exact replacement I was expecting.

Exact replacement, same quality as the OE part.

The 2 parts aren’t compatible!
The trigger only has one attachment clip. There are 2 wires on the igniter. One wire attached to the clip, the other is meant to attach to the pin sticking out of the bottom of the trigger, but you can’t attach a rectangular wire clip to a cylindrical pin.End result is that the 2 parts are not compatible. Some kind of really dumb mistake.Fixable at my end but this issue should have been sorted at the factory.

Now I have a like new grill for $30.
Well, when you replace parts in an old grill you have much old grease to get through. Once done, the new replacement parts give the old grill new life. The burner tube was replaced in 10 sec., The push button ignition switch took10 min. The first grilling meal took 30 min.

Didn't last
Less than a year, and I don't grill very often and it quit working.

A little adjustment required.
It works but one of the plugs is the wrong size to fit over the pin on the back of the sparker. You can force it over but I’m not sure how long it will stay attached.
