Any rod works, but looks best with a wrap around rod.

Q: They arrived fully wrinkled. How do I unwrinkle them ?

I used a hand steamer and wrinkles came right out. I love these curtains.

Q: how big are the grommets?

About two inches... I have them hung on an inch pole and they have lots of moving room.
