Package came early and appeared to be in decent shape. Chuck guard was broke, which seems to be normal for this product. Spent a day fixing Chuck run out was over 5 thousand. Carriage jibs were missing grub screws. Then tried turning threads and it was impossible. Gears that were received cannot be mounted to create thread as the stated combination interferes with the mounts of the gears or drive gears. 1/4-20 thread is impossible because of this. 1mm thread is impossible of well. Didn’t check others after that. Motor spun up quick on every start up and has no torque at all. Easy to slow down and hard to maintain constant speed.

the product was as good as I thought it would be the machine tolerances were very good for the price would definitely recommend to a beginner machinist or some. I just want to learn.

Antes de comprar este torno revisé muchos videos y quejas de los mismos. Hay que ser honestos, es chino, y sabemos lo que eso implica. De todos las quejas que leí, entre ellas:Sucio, oxidado, malos acabados, sin grasa, desajustado, piezas quebradas, tornillos sueltos y de mala calidad, grietas en la fundición, quebraduras de la fundición.Después de ver muchos videos en youtube de cómo solucionar esos problemas, hasta emocionado de tener que hacerlas estaba. Sin embargo, las que no estaba dispuesto a tolerar son solo dos: grietas y quebraduras en la fundición. Así que antes de comprarlo le escribí al vendedor diciéndole que estaba dispuesto a aceptar todos los problemas excepto los relacionados con la fundición. me respondieron lento pero medijeron que no me preocupara que era de calidad.Para mi sorpresa cuando llegó, no venía con ninguno de los problemas, para ser honesto tuve sentimientos encontrados porque los trabajos correctivos y de puesta a punto me tenían motivado y no tuve que hacerlos. El torno llegó: limpio, bien aceitado, súper bien ajustado, sin daños en la fundición, el carro se desliza perfectamente ajustado a lo largo de toda la bancada. Lo único que no he podido revisar porque no me ha llegado el micrómetro y el comprobador de base magnética es la precisión de laNivelación entre el mandril y el contrapunto, pero aunque tenga que ajustarlo estaba preparado para eso y por como ha resultado todo lo demás no me sorprendería que esté bien.Dicho esto, tengo la siguiente observación, parece que la diferencia la hace VEVOR, el torno se vende bajo muchas marcas pero es posible que VEVOR se tome las cosas en serio.No le doy 5 estrellas por el vendedor, en mi opinión hace mercadeo engañoso. En la imagen se puede ver un contrapunto en el torno y otro contrapunto en la caja de herramientas. Amazon es una empresa seria y en mi opinión tal como se ve la imagen debe ser lo que se recibe (así ha sido siempre mi experiencia con Amazon). Por lo tanto hay un engaño en el contrapunto, no viene el que se observa en la imagen del producto. Hay que decir que VEVOR tiene una imagen donde este torno viene sin el contrapunto, solo viene uno en la caja de herramientas, por lo tanto si boboran hubiera usado esa imagen no tendría esta queja, pero yo estaba contento porque con dos contrapuntos podría comprobar la Nivelación del torno, ahora tendré que buscar donde conseguir otra punta centrada para hacer el trabajo de chequeo de precisión del Nivel.Finalmente decir que el torno viene en una caja bien embalado, sujetado con dos tornillos largos, sin embargo uno de ellos no tenia la tuerca puesta y creo que fue un milagro que no se volcara adentro durante elmanipuleo y transporte y ocurriera un desastre.

It works for the money. Able to get extremely fine cutting. Did noting that when turning down metal from on end to the other it’s off. When you get close to the final diminsion you really need to only remove half a mil at a time. One set of the jaws it came with will not hold a work piece straight. Customer service was really responsive but in the end they said it can’t hold a work piece that small straight. The work pieces was 3/4 diameter 🙄. The other set of jaws hold everything correctly. Would I buy again on these price points probably yes

I own a cue repair shop.(Billiard Cues)NO Instructions; NO schematics; NO Nothing!!I am not a machinist. The main reason I purchased this lathe was it is a small lathe with a large Spindle hole at a reasonable price. This one feature allows me to repair shafts and butt handles. Problem is the machine is delivered needing a lot of adjusting without any instructions on how to make them. Even the manual has erroneous information. I was so disappointed I was going to send it back. The gears made a lot of noise. I had no idea how to loosen and line them up. I had no idea how to set the cross slide up. Everything was so tight with no instructions on how to make adjustments. A friend came and lined up the gears which quickly began to run better.I’m still tinkering with it, and watching u-tube video's.I would really like some help from Amazon. Tried to get support from VEVOR and they said I have to get refund or replacement from Amazon. They are considering my repair ticket closed. I will try to copy and paste their response and send it in another review.Received your OK TO RETURN LATHE. NOW I NEED A DATE FOR WHEN YOUR GOING TO PICK IT UP FOR A RETURN AND CREDIT. FROM THERE I PLACE AN ORDER FOR ANOTHER (DIFFERENT) VENDOR LATHE.

The motor smoked the first use. I have a 4 amp WEN that I Cut the same piece at .015” over and over with zero problems. Very sloppy unusable as is, do I have to eat the whole $700 Bucks and hours of trying to tighten up the tolerances?

I don't know why the others are saying this is a bad Lathe because it's pretty good for the price! Mine came in perfect condition with none of the issues some other people have experienced. I'm new to metal turning but I haven't had any problems so far.
