I recently started playing pickleball with some friends from my book club. We are always looking for fun things to try and we have gotten hooked on pickleball. It's very lightweight with the perfect feel and balance for beginners. Just because you're new to the sport, you don't have to start with a crappy fiberglass or worse yet, wooden paddle. This paddle should get you through as you progress from beginner to intermediate level. Then you can start looking for a more expense carbon fiber paddle, with a rough surface so you can spin the ball easier, and the size, shape, and handle length that you're comfortable with.This one is under 8 ounces and has a common shape and feel to it. The ball pops off the surface and the handle is very comfortable.Great paddle for beginners.

I have been trying out this paddle lately. I have been playing pickleball for several years now. I love the color and the composite nature of the paddle. It is lightweight...less than 8 oz. I think it would be great for a beginner. I personally like a little heavier paddle. I will use this as an alternative. This would definitely be good for a beginning player as it would not fatigue their arm.
