Good when used correctly
When I first tried pouring water into these stones it erupted and splattered all over the sauna but at the time the sauna had been heating up for over 90 minutes and the temperature in there was just over 100 degrees C.That means that the temperature of the rocks were as hot as they would ever get - way too hot to effectively use these sauna stones.I would advise filling the holes in the stones up well before the sauna gets up to a high temperature so that the water can evaporate slowly - basically prepare so that the sauna is ready to step into with high humidity.If you let the sauna get up to full temperature the water you pour into the holes in the rocks will boil as soon as it hits them so the effect is really no different to simply pouring water onto standard sauna stones.For anyone who doesn't have their saunas as madly hot as me these stones should be OK to pour water into at any time and I can imagine them even working in a infra-red type sauna, more in an aromatherapy sort of way.
