Do the funnels detach? A previous question seems to say no (might be misunderstanding), but pictures of the Master Grade kit show that that they do?

Yes, they slide on and off. The MH also has a stand that let's you display them in an action pose.

Can the wings/ funnels being detach if I buy the stand for them in order to simulate the effects?

The entire wing assembly does detach. The spires do not individually detach.
