love it. heat proof is fine. I didn't realize it had double wall that can keep warm for a while. Feel great for Chinese tea.

The finish is nice and the handle is OK. While this will withstand the drop test onto a hard floor and not break it may dent. My first test upon seeing the meager thickness of the double wall was to test heat transfer. And as suspected the heat transfer was far from my expectations and my wife’s requirement—outside of the cup was 108.9° F. with the liquid inside was 159.6° F. Far from other double walled stainless steel cups that cost about 100% more but have a thicker air gap so the outside of the cup is closer to the ambient temperature of the room-very easy for my wife to hold—she can’t use the handle due to pain in her hand.

My wife was next to me when I opened the package, and her initial reaction was, "That's an ugly mug." Fortunately, it wasn't for her, and I'm a guy who's not impressed with form over function. I don't need fancy designs and deep-set colors; I need utility, which is where this cup shines. It's more voluminous than my other mugs, so my "1 cup of coffee" morning restriction gives me more mileage. It's also double-walled, so it insulates well and prevents the outside becoming too hot, meaning you can pour a near boiling cup of coffee in there and still hold it by the cup itself. The handle is likewise functional, but that's about all I can embellish on that. There's only two downsides with this type of mug, which will be true of any double-walled, metal mug. First, obviously, you can't use it in the microwave, so if you normally use left-over coffee and nuke it, you can't do it directly in this mug, but it works great for freshly made coffee. Second, it's not a great survival mug, because the same double-walled insulation that prevents heat from escaping also limits it's transfer in, which means you can't heat anything up in it over an open fire. That may not be an issue for you, but my survival standard is gear should be multi-purposed to reduce space while extending utility, but I digress. All in all a great utility mug that beats the heck out of ceramic, unless you need to heat things up in it.
