Speed was not constant and could not make thick froth ...
Speed was not constant and could not make thick froth for that reason. The stirer is flimsily attached for a commercial machine. I returned it.

Over the top for home use, but quite basic really....
This item is designed for the commercial market, but is attractive enough to look good sitting on the kitchen worktop in my small flat.Thankfully, as the instructions are very brief (almost useless, really), it is very simple to use the unit. Simply fill the metal cup (included with the mixer) with milk and other ingredients, taking care not to fill beyond the maximum capacity, and then clip the cup into the machine. It will be held in place by a bracket on the machine, and the small platform on which it sits while the mixing takes place. If powered on, the mixer will automatically start at one of its two settings, either quite loud and quite fast, or very loud and very fast. In a few seconds, the shake will be ready for drinking.I tried a number of different combinations of fruits and other ingredients, but this unit is not really capable of dealing with any fruit firmer than a ripe banana, as the mixing spindle is obviously not designed to deal with solids.. It works best when simply mixing milk with a shop-bought milk shake concentrate, paerhaps with a little ice cream. If I was buying a milk shake maker for home use, I wouldn't even consider this one. For its limited uses, I would have been just as well served by a basic model, easily sourced for under £30.00. However, if for some reason I wanted to make 250 milk shakes a day, then this would probably be the sensible choice, as more basic models would almost certainly overheat and blow if used so heavily.

Good Quality Commercial Mixer
The Proctor-Silex 60200 is a commercial mixer, and I am not convinced that anybody really needs something like this in their home kitchen. The accompanying notes also make it very clear that this product is for the commercial market. Having said that, however, it doesn't look ridiculous in my kitchen. It is very smart, and quite slimline in design, but also quite tall.Using the mixer is very easy. You just pop what you need in to the large metal cup. It is important to note that you must not overfill the cup beyond the second indent, or you may end up with a messy kitchen! You simply push the metal cup up to start the mixer, and you can leave it there without the need to hold it. In practice, this is really only useful in the commercial market, as you may need to serve customers at the same time as mixing drinks. The machine has two speed settings, fast and slow, for use with different types of drinks. The mixer is really only for use with very soft, or liquid items. It will mix batter easily, and can even cope with very ripe berries, but it will not work well for firmer fruits. This would mean using other items of equipment and would really negate the use of this mixer. The actual performance of the machine is good. It is not too noisy, and it is quick and effective. It mixers drinks very well, and helps you to produce a good quality milkshake or iced coffee. I can't really fault the performance of the machine, but I am not convinced that it is does anything that another product couldn't do as equally as well. It is very easy to clean, which is a bonus from many traditional mixing machines.Overall, the quality of the product seems high, but whether it justifies the price tag is another matter. The machine is for commercial use, but there are other products out there that can do the job equally well.

Awesome appliance
From indredients to delicious berry smoothy in minutes. Out of the box it works easily, safely and a very soilid elegant and ergonomic design. Easy to clean and keep clean. The stainless steel mixing canister that comes with it is perfect too. Light but solid. Looks indestructible.Considering it's a commercial mixer, it doesn't look out of place on my kitchen counter at home (I have a small kitchen). The two speed power option is good, and the fact that you don't press buttons at the top to activate the mixer is convenient - it works by pressing the mixing canister up into a hidden sprung/pressure switch near the top behind the mixing shaft. There is also a useful little ledge that holds the canister in place while it's being used.I was ambitious to try and make the berry smoothy because the mixer looks strong enough to do that (and it works); however it is strictly a drinks mixer so just be sure you know that this is not the sort of unit you would use for making smoothies with more solid fruit and certainly no good for frappuccinos (this mixer is not good for crushing ice). You would need a dedicated blender for that sort of thing.
