This device has added a load of new features to the camera with regards to using AI to recognise the type of recording it has captured, and it seems pretty impressive so far. The instructions are acceptable, one thing I wasn't too happy about was it said I had to connect each camera individually by putting them within 1 metre of the Homebase, which would have meant getting the ladders out and taking down 4 cameras. I rang my mate Daz who said "just ignore that", so I left them where they were and clicked ok, and sure enough they were all added no issue. Glad I asked Daz as I would have been out in the rain on the ladders, and who knows, I might have slipped off the ladder and broken my neck, or worse.....so its a bit silly of Eufy to stipulate this on the setup. The response time to view recorded issues on the app has improved. It used to be up to about 10 seconds to start playback of a clip, now its like 1 second. Im happy with this purchase.

The HomeBase 3 has been a huge improvement for my Eufy setup. Installation was quick, the app picked it up straight away, and all my cameras connected without any issues. The upgraded AI is a real step up, with much better detection accuracy and faster alerts compared to the older models. I added my own SSD inside which means I never have to worry about storage. The system runs smoothly, recordings save instantly, and everything stays local which is a big bonus. The unit itself is quiet, well built, and has a clean modern design that fits nicely on a shelf. If you already use Eufy devices this upgrade is absolutely worth it, the performance boost and smarter detection make a big difference day to day.

Avoid. Can't format a regular SATA drive. useless. I purchased a new Toshiba SATA drive (Model Number MQ01ABD100V-PS), correct specs, to use to expand the storage. The S380 is unable to format the drive, constantly prompts to format the drive, always fails when I follow the drive format steps (fault code -110). I'm stuck with the built in storage or trying to return the whole system, which is impractical now I've fitted the bloody cameras and doorbell!. Check the support forums before you buy, this issue (fussiness over drives and failure to format) is common. Update - 2 weeks into contacting Eufy support. I've been asked to connect the Toshiba hard drive (Model Number MQ01ABD100V-PS) to my laptop to check it formats on there, so had to purchase an adapter and of course it does (the hard drive is fine). Eufy's response: "After another round of careful review, we believe the issue is most likely caused by the hard drive not being compatible with the HomeBase 3. We understand this may be disappointing to hear, and we’re very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused." Other than being Toshiba-branded, my drive meets the spec. I think Eufy are making excuses, don't want to admit the Hub is faulty. I've pointed out that the drive meets the specs, formats and works fine with my PC, and queried whether HomeBase 3 has a brand-allergy. Update 2: Eufy are now (only now!) specifying which drives you should purchase to work with this HomeBase. "For the best stability and long-term performance, our technical team kindly recommends replacing it with a surveillance-grade hard drive, such as: - WD Purple - Seagate SkyHawk"

This is a really nice product, I was thinking of expanding my storage, however, I didnt need to as I only use this for the doorbell. When i expand my system to include Eufy cameras and other tech then ill expand the storage to hold more recordings and data. Was very easy to set up and directy connected it via ethernet. Also I guess one other good thing is it also acts as a chime, I had forgot to order a chime and so was happy when this worked as the chime.

Ich benutzt Eufy nun schon seit mehreren Jahren und habe mehrere Familienmitglieder damit ausgestattet. Aber diese Basis ist einfach nur genial. Man kann eine Festplatte anschließen und hat Speicher ohne Ende. Da ich mir unsicher war ob ich die richtige Festplatte kaufen würde habe ich erst einmal eine Festplatte mit 1 TB gekauft. Eine Samsung 870 EVO SATA III 2,5 Zoll SSD, 1 TB denn irgendwie habe ich für einen Laien nur schwer die Information gefunden. Die Festplatte war super leicht zu installieren, wurde sofort erkannt und nach 3 Monaten mit ca. 9 Kameras die aufzeichnen habe ich noch immer 92 % an Festspeicher verfügbar. Also die anderen Basisteile die für meine älteren Kameras gekauft wurden werden nun gar nicht mehr gebraucht, denn 14 GB ist auf jeder dieser alten Basisteile nur verfügbar. :-( Ich bin einfach nur begeistert denn ich habe die Möglichkeit alle meine Kameras an nur diese eine Basis anzuschließen und den Speicher bis zu 16 TB zu erweitern, genial. Zudem kann ich Aufzeichnungen mit einem Herzen markieren, damit diese niemals überschrieben werden, wenn der Speicher doch mal voll sein sollte… Ich benutze gleichzeitig an dieser Basis alte Kameras 2C Pro und auch neue S350 bzw. S340 und alle werden super erkannt von der neuen Basisstation und zeichnen auf. Ich habe die Basis nun schon einige Monate im Betrieb und kann Unterschiede bzgl. Stabilität der Aufzeichnung zur Vorgängerbasis 2, wie in einer Rezension bemängelt wurde, nicht feststellen. Was ich auch Super finde ist die KI-Verfolgung, die diese Basis und nur diese neue Basis ermöglicht. Wenn eine Kamera eine Person erfasst und diese Person in Richtung der nächsten Kamera geht, dann startet die nächste Kamera mit der Aufzeichnung bereits bevor die Person in den Sensor-Bereich dieser Kamera gekommen ist. Dies funktioniert zwar nich zu 100%, aber wenn es funktioniert, dann ist das schon Klasse. Nach meiner Erfahrung scheint diese Funktion nicht sofort zu funktionieren sondern scheint sich erst nach einiger Zeit „einzuspielen“. Wie in einer Rezension beschrieben ist es tatsächlich so, dass man alle schon vorhandenen Kameras bei der neuen Basis anmelden muss, richtig, aber das muss man auch mit jeder neuen Kamera. Was aber super ist, ist die Tatsache, dass eine „alte“ Kamera auf einmal die Vorteile der KI der neuen Basis übernimmt, etwas was die alte Basis gar nicht anbietet und ich hätte angenommen, dass die Kamera das gar nicht nutzen könnte. Man muss also keine neuen Kameras kaufen um die KI inkl. KI-Verfolgung zu nutzen. Dafür würde ich alle Male die neue Anmeldung in Kauf nehmen. :-) Der einzige Nachteil den ich sehe ist die Notwendigkeit irgendwann mal alles auszutauschen wenn ich irgendwann 5G statt 2,4 Ghz Technologie nutze… aber das Problem hat man wohl bei allen Smart-Geräten auch; trotzdem klare Kaufempfehlung.

Great and easy to setup. Good AI recognition features. I like the possibility of adding a HDD or SSD. I would’ve liked to see more automations that would be relevant to daily use. However, for people that have the alarm system from eufy might be great. Overall happy with it and recommend one.

Se hai delle telecamere Eufy questo è il prodotto che fa per te. Certo prima devi verificarne la compatibilità. Rispetto all’utilizzo delle telecamere in modalità stand-alone questo accessorio da la possibilità di passare in modalità “fuori casa” o “a casa” in maniera automatica in base alla posizione del tuo cellulare (geofencing) ; in modo tale da mettere tutte le telecamere in registrazione quando si è fuori casa (da impostare nell’app). Ho aggiunto un HDD da 1 TB e quindi lo spazio di archiviazione è praticamente illimitato. Altra funziona interessante è il riconoscimento delle persone, che però va ‘istruito’ a dovere, nel senso che all’inizio non distinguerà bene le persone della vostra famiglia ma man mano che gli indicate che quel volto appartiene alla persona giusta verrà poi riconosciuta. Insomma vale la pena acquistarlo per avere un impianto di video sorveglianza quasi professionale.
