Thomas the Tank Engine: Complete Collection 70th Anniversary Edition (Classic Thomas the Tank Engine)

Even for a republication of the original complete collection book from 1996, the cover you see here for the 70th anniversary edition looks really glamorous and wonderful. What else was so great about the book that it features all 105 stories from 26 Railway Series volume books by the Reveverend Wilbert Vere Awdry. (There was another complete collection with Wilbert's son, Christopher Awdry's stories, barring Thomas And His Friends (42nd volume book published in July 2011), published in 2007 - although it is now out of stock and becoming hard to find nowadays with some hefty cost)Alongside Wilbert's stories, there was also a foreword page written by Wilbert himself, afterword written by Brian Sibley (The Thomas the Tank Engine Man; 1995 - will also be republished from July 2015. Watch this space!) and biography pages about the Railway Series' illustrators. (excluding Clive Spong)As a huge fan of Thomas and Friends since I was a kid, I highly recommend this great edition of "Thomas the Tank Engine: Complete Collection" to families who have children who love Thomas, as well as to all-time Thomas and the Railway Series fans alike.May Thomas and the Railway Series live on for many generations to come.

This is a truly beautiful and colourfully illustrated book! All the old favourites that I read to my son and now to my granddaughter. Really stands the test of time. Love it!

The volume is nicely bound and covers all Thomas stories in one volume. However, I would recommend against using this with children. The illustrations are published in a smaller format than the individual books. Additionally the individual volumes present one illustration at a time together with the relevant text, so kids don't get distracted by what comes next.

Complete collection of the original series of books. Somewhat compressed format, and not glossy paper - but good value. Where is the Welsh language edition?

Thomas The Tank Engine - a genuine classic and this is an excellent quality copy of those wonderful stories

Beautiful volume bought for my son. I’d never read Thomas before getting this and very much look forward to it now. The book has the original, lovely illustrations and some nice information about the author.
