A great group of reflections
A captivating collection of stories from the bygone days of Chicago to the present. Sometimes serious and yet touched with a wry self awareness. The stories of notable men and women who have made contributions jump out of their own era and into the spotlight in a way that makes them accessible to the contemporary reader. Even those familiar with the city and its history will find something they haven't learned yet about a town that broke molds combining big dreams with regular folk. Readers might see shades of Carl Sandburg's homespun style or Mike Royko's saucy send ups of City Hall. The portraits of the lives in these stories will leave you thinking in a good way.

Chicago Storyteller
Roger Wright's latest book is a good read. Growing up in Chicago I can relate to his stories and even if you didn't they will still resonate with you. Roger is descriptive in the characters he talks about, the surroundings he sets up and even though the book is made up of many short stories there is a lot going on in each of them. I highly recommend the book because the stories capture you and pull you into them as you read them.
