They are refurbished and cheap for a reason
Runs off microsd card inside. It turns off if it loses contact. This is most likely why it turns off by itself. Terrible design.

Stopped working!
Thus is my second unit. I bought it again because it was great but the second one works for a bit of time and then just shuts off even without the timer. This happened after I could return it.
