Great for a CKD senior kitty
Integral for a kitty with CKD. I've been able to use these in his food by opening the capsule and sprinkling onto a treat with other meds. He doesn't seem to mind the taste. My vet recommended these - and have been using for about a year. Good quality, value & helpful to the health of my cat.

A second wind
My CKCS senior dog is in stage 3 CKD and has been in a battle with cancer this year and she has been food resistant needing zofran and entyce to eat, not wanting to go on walks, severe depression, to the point of us considering giving her mercy. After 2 weeks of using this binder she is almost completely back to her old self and I cannot express the tears of joy I have felt seeing her find her happiness, no longer using any medication to eat and has her (near) energy again to enjoy her walks etc.She has been picky about food and thankfully loves this sprinkled on boiled chicken (approved by our vet).If your dog/cat can enjoy the smell/taste I cannot recommend this binder enough.

Great phosphate binder for my kidney-diseased cat
This phosphate binder was great for my kidney-diseased cat. I don't feed my cat a prescription diet, as I don't believe cats should be on low protein diet, until stage 4 (my cat is between stage 2 and 3), as cats are still carnivores, and the prescription food is low and poor quality protein. I try and get my cat to eat as much wet, canned food as possible, with extra water added, but it does have 0.68% dry-matter phosphorous, which is relatively low. After a few months, he didnt want to eat the food anymore - I was worried his kidneys had gotten worse. After I added this phosphate binder, he started eating 2x as much, so back to his normal quantity and gained weight. I started out slow in adding this to the food, as cats can be sensitive to changes to their routine. Now, I give half of the powder in each capsule for every 2.75 ounces of wet food. This phosphate binder does contain fish, so if your cat doesn't like fish, you might not be able to add much (my hairdressers cat is like this), but luckily, my cat does like fish. 😉

Seemed to work.
No odor problem. My dog seemed to live a little longer while in kidney failure.

Recommended
My 16 year old poodle had to be on these during her kidney disease, they did keep her levels at bay for a while, but due to her age and the kidney disease itself these were no longer effective. (No fault of the supplement) These were easy to open and mix in her wet food, she seemed to enjoy it.

Has Strong Odor and Taste
My vet recommended this for my kitty's kidney disease. When I opened the capsule, the odor was so foul and even when mixed with her food, she refused to eat it. Please know this product has a very strong odor and is NOT tasteless.

Really works
The results are real. I’ve got blood tests to prove it. The stuff is literally extending my 10yo labs life. Kidney failure sucks but this buys you more time with your loved ones.

Nope
Absolutely not! Not only does it smell horrible but it’s way to big to shove down my cats throat and when it doesn’t mix in water well. It’s almost like mixing oil and water and when I gave it to her she started drooling. Awful. I gave it 3 stars as this product may actually work and would have saved me money as now she’s on 2 meds instead of this one but i couldn’t get it down her throat. You need to make these smaller!
