Midcentury Modern Style: An Approachable Guide to Inspired Rooms

Main thing I love about this book is that I feel that it's so much more than just a beautiful "coffee table book". Yes, the photgraphs are stunning. But most importantly, it gives real, actionable advice that will be appreciated by both long-time MCM fans and newbies alike. MCM is my favorite design style, but a lot of times I don't know where to start in my own rooms, or if I do I feel like I'd just do a "paint-by-numbers" design of only getting the well-known (and usually out of my price range) MCM furniture pieces. This book gives great advice on how to incorporate your own personal style with some MCM flair, across a range of budgets. I especially appreciated the blurbs where it lists specific designers/brands/websites so you have a good starting point on where to go if you're inspired, like I was, to start putting the book's advice to work in your own home.

Super practical book with a lot of great advice about mid century style. Great explanations of what the style was originally and how to recreate it in modern times!

This seemed like a bit of primitive text since I am quite into midcentury style. So there was not too much of new information for me. But the photos are great, as well as the book quality. Beginners will definitely find it useful.

My wife and I are designing and building a new modern home. We are planning the interior design using this book. We really like how the author goes room by room with ideas. So many tips, tricks, and vendor lists to help find everything you love and need. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to put a mid century design spin on their home. We started out with the color palette suggestions and have used that to layout and design all our bathroom tile and the kitchen backsplash. The list of tile vendors was so helpful. From there we moved on to furniture, fixtures, cabinets, and so much more. The book is as it says "an approachable guide to inspired rooms".

This book was well written. You could tell the author loves design. Great coffee table book, the pictures were great.

My wife loves Mid Century design and loves books about the subject. I bought her this book for Christmas and she now says is her favorite! She even found it a special place in our living room. Great book.

The book came faster than expected . It was a house warming gift for my daughter and son-in-law who love MCM ... and they were both thrilled with the book! Great suggestions, pictures and ideas .
