Bivy sack
This is worth the price, and fits easily in a backpack. I used it in the rain and I stayed dry.

Augmented favorite ultralight tent with this
69 yr old Navy Vet augments kit with this dependable, sturdy bivy. Combined with a Gossamer Gear Twinn tarp, this bivy meets my needs in all weather/terrain. 66 inches tall/buck 50 weight. No condensation issues. Packs small. Attached guy line from clam opening at 90 degrees. Satisfied.

Gets the job done, mostly.
Worked just fine in the cold desert for a week. It's tight, probably as expected, but it's tight! I'm 6' 175lbs -180lbs most days. What got me was finding myself in an actual unexpected survival situation and the biv did not perform, could have been bad. Long story short, I pulled this bivy out in a hurry one afternoon at the end of a 9 day solo remote expedition. Only two days left but I'd have to make it through that evening first. Unexpected heavy snow and rain socked me in on top of a mesa and I knew I needed to set up shelter quick and prepare for this weather moving in. Popped it up under an old juniper, crawled inside and after much consideration I mananged to get a message through requesting an evacuation from a friend asap. I passed out and five hours later I was awoken to a friend and a couple inches of snow. My bivy was soaked my bag was soaked, socks and pants and everything else was soaked. I'm not entirely experienced in bivouacs but had I not had an evac that evening I still wonder what wouldve happened. Waking up to frostbite in the wee hours? Going into hypothermia in such a deep slumber and then not wake up at all? I guess keep it out of moisture and on fair weather adventures only. I did lightly use weatherproofing, obviously not enough. Not waterproof, and is slim!

NOT Waterproof
I used this for six nights in Utah in October. Cool nights with a fair amount of dew. Definitely not waterproof, as my bag was wet all night every night. Probably would only recommend for extending the season of older bags used in the summer/ fall where condensation is not as much an issue.

Beginners beware
I love this bivy works great for me for very specific trips. Bivys are definitely not for everyone. Do your research before buying and if in doubt choose a tent
