Not as good as the early ones but still enjoyable
Bought as a present the recipient has read the whole series. She didn't enjoy this as much but still a good read so I was told.

Feel good
This is a feel good book which makes you smile through each adventure. More of this is needed in our world.

2 ERRORS
Thoroughly enjoyed the book, but as is mentioned in another review, there are 2 examples where the author gets the name of the character wrong. Two observations. Firstly, the author is well known for his huge literary output e.g. 5000 words per day - perhaps such speed can result in the odd mistake. Secondly these glaring errors should have been picked up by his editor / proof reader.

A warm and comforting story. Five stars on the feel good factor. Lovely to note the development of the characters through the series .

Light-hearted escapism
I have given this book only four stars as there are a couple of flaws. My McCall Smith needs an editor as there are errors in continuity and on two occasions he has used the wrong character's name. I have noticed similar errors in the latter books in this series. Maybe he writes them in a hurry? Nevertheless this book is as charming and enjoyable as the earlier ones. As always I am left feeling that I would like to go to Botswana.
