Perfect solution for viewing Sky Q in another room
Bought these after having Sky Q installed to watch and control the Sky box from the bedroom. We previously had Sky HD with an RF2 output and a magic eye running through coaxial cable from the lounge to upstairs, which worked well but picture quality was never the best. The Sky Q box does not have a coaxial output and so I needed a solution to watch TV in the bedroom without subscribing to Multiroom. After reading the other reviews I bought a 10m high quality cat6 cable to run in place of my coaxial cable from the lounge, outside & up the wall to the bedroom, two cat6 faceplates and 2 1m high quality cat6 cables to connect the units to the faceplates. You also need 3 HDMI cables (which I already had) - one to plug the Sky Q box into the unit, one to return the HDMI from the same unit to the TV downstairs and another for the second unit to connect this to your TV upstairs. Did a dummy run first before main fix using just the 10m cat 6 cable up to the bedroom through the windows. To my delight it worked first time and provided a clear HD picture. Removed previously used coaxial cable and replaced with the cat6, chopped the connectors off each end and cut this down to about 7m. Fitted faceplates, connected up and works perfectly with a great picture. Using with a Bluetooth Sky Q remote control which will control the box from upstairs without the need for the IR sender. Brilliant little units which so far, give a clear picture every time.

Works to extend hdmi around property
This works perfectly to extend the hdmi signal from my satalite box around the outside of my house approx 20 metres. I installed a cat 6 cable to run around the outside of my house from front room to back when I had an extension. This was used with a similar device by another manufacturer, however would only work to transmit 1080i and not 1080p. That unit has since failed and so I replaced with this one and set the satellite box to 1080p, and this works perfectly. IR transmission also works without. Problem and loopback to the TV in the front room is also perfect. Great buy, assuming it lasts.

It works great and solved my problem
It works perfectly and has replaced my old flickering setup. It’s so simple to use and install.I used to have a HDMI over ethernet sender/receiver which also used a 1 in 2 out HDMI splitter so I could watch TV in either my lounge or kitchen snug area, however one of the TV’s had an intermittent flicker and was driving me crazy. I tried replacing various cables which showed no fix, so I thought trying a new HDMI over ethernet sender/receiver would be the best bet and it has solved the flicker. It feels good quality, packaged nicely and for the price is great.I’ve also bought a second one now and am using this for my XBOX, there’s no lag and works a treat so I can have a cheeky game of FIFA whilst cooking.

Not all cables are created equal
My family repeatedly ask my why I have a huge box full of network cables - "when everything is wireless now" - taking up space in the house, and the answer is for stuff like this.I needed to run a cable from downstairs (where the main TV box is) to an upstairs bedroom, about 15m (with little slack for making it look nice) in order to replace a large, black, 20m HDMI cable.I have a 30m flat, Cat6, cable currently connecting a router by the TV box to a computer in that bedroom, so I disconnected that, plugged these baluns in, plugged an HDMI into the input, another into the loop back and got video on the main TV. Connected the network cable and got a happy green light to say the link was established, except there was no video output. So I put the two boxes next to each other, connected the TV box to the transmitter, downstairs TV to the receiver and tested out different cables:I tried with a 5m Cat5 cable and it worked first time, so the boxes did work.I tried with a 10m Cat5 cable and it worked first time, just wasn't long enough to reach the bedroom.I tried with a 15m Cat5 cable and got no video or audio.I tried joining the 5m and 10m together with a joiner I had, but no video or audio.Bought a Cat7 joiner and tried the 5m and 10m again, and this worked.Picture quality is good, though does create green speckles down the left side of the screen. And the first couple of uses I was getting audio drops, but after making sure the network and HDMI cables where fully pushed in, that looks to have settled down.I can also plug the 20m HDMI cable into the receiver making it super flexible for positioning screens. The supplied IR transmitter is fast and responsive, as though you are sitting in front of the box.It can also be driven from a USB socket (5v 1A) with the right cable, even with a USB extension cable. It's a good product, that does everything I want it to, though could have done without running through so many cables looking for ones that work!

Stopped working after a few months
Was working perfectly for a few months. Then all of a sudden it died on me. Tried numerous ethernet and hdmi cables thinking the problem could've been with them. I even tried on different TVs and receivers with no luck. Both devices light up but no signal. When it was working in the beginning, I would've given it 5 stars. The setup was simple with the auto switching feature to adjust for the cable length. For my previous extender, I had to manually change physical switches which never really worked with me.I guess the unit I have is defective, hence the low rating.
