The hedge trimmer was supplied fully assembled complete with an easy to understand operator’s manual in numerous languages. Also included in the box were a combination screw driver and spark plug spanner and spare tube of grease for lubricating the gearbox. There is a robust safety guard that covers the blades whilst in storage or transport. There is also a sturdy safety shield in front of the left-hand grip to minimize the risk your hand contacting the blade or being hit by debris during trimming. The blades were already coated with a thin oil so all that was needed was to fill the tank with the correct mixture of petrol and two stroke oil. This engine only needs 2% oil to 98% petrol which is quite low compared to most two stroke engines so it would be easy to over do it with the oil which will end up with the engine smoking and running rough. If you have not got one, then invest in a mixing bottle as they made the task of getting the right mixture easy and are only a few quid. Once filled up it was choke on. 5 pumps of the priming bulb and after a pull on the starting cord she was running. Choke in and running smoothly. The weight distribution has been designed well so the trimmer feels comfortable to hold and was manageable so that with a bit of practice I could get a nice cut. The blades are very sharp and with the powerful engine you won’t find many hedges that will stand in your way. I fin it is best to rev it up to get the blades moving fast and then the inertia will help keep them moving whilst cutting. If you try to put the blade in the hedge before revving the engine then you can get it blocked up. It is early days but so far I am really impressed with the McCulloch.

This little machine starts first time with a gentle but firm pull on the cord..I say this because my pull cord came out fully and would not retract..I simply removed the top housing cover reeled it in but it happened again!!.This is very unusual..so as the manual says a firm short sharp pull on the cord and she starts first time every time!!.She purs over like a pussy cat...really nice..and yes its 'super/light' easy to use..compared to the electric one I had its like cutting butter with a warm knife...Its really well made of course because its Husqvarna that make them...What did impress me was I had a problem with the payment to amazon so it was re-paid and I knew that would set me back time wise as I had arranged help to do this particular hedge..However it was re-ordered on the tue and it arrived straight from Sweden on the Friday at 10 am...Now That I was impressed with!! All for £132.90 and free delivery..You simply cannot buy better for the price.Although they are probably made in China...!! A few other pointers...she comes with a handy all in one tool for spark plug removal and screw/nut adjuster...make sure you go over ALL the self tapping screws and tighten one above firm..80% of mine were loose..this is not a bad thing..It also comes with a tube of grease..THIS is a SPARE..she if fully greased up and needs no grease..I removed the housing cover which is situated underneath its the bright long silver plate with about 10 bolts..and it was fully greased and looked 'Mint'..When starting her do the usual 4-5 -6 primes or really just until you see the bubble full..then pull out the choke fully..start her..if she fails to start..simply put the choke back in and fire her up again..she will go first time..if not then just pull the choke out half and she will go then..I have lots of petrol powered machinery for my large garden and this is a great wee addition to them..However nothing can touch my 'Ransomme 45 Marquis'..those of you who know what that is will be smiling now!!...

Superlite hedge strimmer is a fantastic machine. Easy to start and not too heavy to use. Great for small to medium hedges.

Tried using the trimmer today. Took about 20 minutes to get it going, struggled to maintain high revs. Stopped the engine, which I left for about 15 minutes, tried to restart, would not run. Now back in the garage. Ended up using my old petrol trimmer on a pole, which is not a Mcculloch.

Great piece of kit for general purpose hedge trimming, however does get really heavy if used continually. Starts really easy and cuts through the thicker branches with ease. A good trimmer for a medium size garden and certainly capable of takeling the big stuff.

Bought this from Amazon Warehouse so it was 2/3 of original price. As a professional gardener I needed this as opposed to using a multitool hedge cutter as this item provides more dexterity in cutting and a wider cutting gap width. Packaging was damaged, but item looked totally unused. The blades will need greasing prior to use, and I suggest a low throttle on initial start-up to get the gearbox grease/oil to warm up, then the blades will cut at a good speed. Very happy, and a bargain.

I was hoping for better. It is light weight and feels well built but I find it cuts out regularly even when the engine is warm.

2 tempi, quindi non c'e un gran che di potenza. Ma si fa il lavoro decentemente. Ogni tanti si fatica con i rami piu spesi. Per l'uso ogni tanto per mantenere l'ordine nel giardino, va bene.

Nachdem ich mit der Heckenscheere das erste Mal meine Hecke geschnitten habe, ist mir aufgefallen, dass die Leistung immer mehr abnahm und zum Schluss, als die Scheere Betriebstemperatur hatte, nur noch bleistiftstarke Ästchen schnitt. Das war für mich völlig undiskutabel. Zum Glück sitz der McCulloch Service 4 km von mir entfernt. Ich hin, der gute Mann stellt mit Spezialschlüssel das Gemisch fetter und sagt "Tschüß". Begründung: Um die Abgaswerte zu erreichen, wird die Scheere sau mager eingestellt, da sie mit dieser Einstellung keine Leistung bringt, kommen alle nach dem ersten Schnitt und lassen das Gemisch neu einstellen. Ich war etwas ungläubig, fuhr nach Hause und das Gerät arbeitet wie die Feuerwehr. Kein Vergleich mehr zu vorher! Als ich jetzt den VW-Abgasskantal zur Kenntnis nehmen musste, ist mir das hier wie ein Seifensieder aufgegangen. Das Gerät funktioniert einwandfrei, allerdings offensichtlich nicht mit den angegebenen und zertifizierten Abgaswerten. Für diesen Betrug, gibts einen Punkt Abzug von mir. Ich halte von diesem Abgasgetue sowieso nichts. Das ist nur ABM für die Industrie. Der Kunde wird so gezwungen, ständig neue Technik zu kaufen, die keinerlei messbare Vorteile, außer kürzere Lebensdauer und größere Störanfälligkeit bringt und natürlich, wie in meinem Fall, zusätzlichen Aufwand.

Spring gut an, Durchzugsstark ... schafft auch dickere Äste .....Die alte (war das gleiche Modell) hat 7 Jahre gehalten, das hat mich bewogen diese wieder zu bestellen.
