Whittle Away!
My 11 year old grandson got a whittling kit and this for his birthday. He really likes whittling and he loved making spoons.

Beautiful wood sampler may frustrate brand new whittlers
I like the shape and size of these blanks, but the mulberry which looks amazing is super hard on my carpal tunnel and nerve damaged hands. The blanks are great looking, and I purchased them as a way to sample a few different types of wood for spoons. I don’t think I would reccomend these blanks for beginners, but for Whittier’s with better hands than mine and some experience under their belt, I think these blanks would be great for novice or better since the wood is pretty hard and could frustrate a beginner to the point of giving up. I love the look of the mulberry but it’s too hard on my hands so I will have to just admire what others do with mulberry wood. The price is good, shipping was timely, and the blanks are a nice size to carve spoons for eating with.

They are small!!
I was disappointed with how small they are. After carving, they'll make a good baby spoon. But, maybe that's what you're after. If so, they will be perfect. However, if I had taken the time to read the full product description, I would have seen the size of 6.5"L x 1.5"W is listed. So, that's on me. On a positive note, the blanks are nice, knot free pieces of wood.

tableware sized
check the photos, it shows over all length. I was hopeful that they were cooking length, but are more for the tableware. Works great as a sugar spoon to add sugar to your coffee or tea (if you are so inclined). mine carved out to about 1tsp. but could be less or more. The cherry is harder than I expected, but I stropped the hook knife and it worked better.

Go for it
Lots of fun. Would recommend to any friend or family. Great cuts of wood and ideal spoon size.

good wood, but shape is not perfect
I bought these along with hook knifes also from Beavercraft. the knives are fantastic, but the wood blanks are unfortunately not perfect symmetrical and each vary a little in shape. no issue with the wood itself, but given the price, I was expecting the shapes to be perfect

They carved up nice
I am just starting wood carving and these made a good intro to the craft. Maybe its just the way a carved them, but these would be more like tea stirring spoons, not dig into a big bowl or corn flakes type of spoon.
