Gogo, a Martian teenager, is sent to Earth to prepare the way for an invasion. The first Earthling he meets, one Aunt Wendy, is a rich widow who runs a dress shop catering to teenagers. Her nephew, Big Lunk, is a volleyball-loving guy with little interest in romance, which causes frustration for his girlfriend Connie. Naturally, Gogo meets Connie and they fall in love. Meanwhile, Aunt Wendy's shady neighbor and his gang concoct a scheme to part Aunt Wendy from her cash. Also meanwhile, the local motorcycle gang wants revenge on the volleyball players for... getting footprints on their beach. Somehow all the subplots come together at the pajama party.

hidef nostalgia blast
I'd never thought I'd see a bluray or 2k version of any of the bikini movies that used to air way back in the 70s on independent TV channels during the summer. Seeing Frankie and Annette and Harvey Lembeck lead his rats and mice across the beach, it's harmless and memorable stuff. My only beef is that movies then, as now, are still out of step with main stream teenagers. Without going into a big paragraph about teenage history throughout the years, the "edgy" element is dumbed down and disneyfied for the teenage audience. It was created before the days of online sleaze, which means that Lembeck's gang has been softened in terms of motorcycle gang violence. And teenage pregnancy rates, I can only guess, were not effected by this film and others in the series. It's designed as a silly teenage romantic romp for teenagers, but watching people in their late twenties, or even thirties or early forties, pretend to be high school or college youth puts a wry grin on my face. I mean you can't take these things too seriously, then or now. But it's like in hindsight one wonders what the producers were thinking, or if they thought they were pulling the wool over anyone's eyes. It's meant to be an irreverent film, but I can't imagine anyone really getting into the films unless you were a devout church going youth who needed to "live on the wild side" every now and then with this kind of a movie.Still, it was something to see during those hot summer days inside the house with the air-conditioning going. That, and the music is actually pretty decent, even if the basic story and plot are kind of out there.I guess what I'm trying to say is that kids then and now tend to know more than what movie producers make for them, And a film with actual teenagers, to me, might have had more impact as long as it was age appropriate, than seeing the usual suspects try to youthen themselves for something that most teenagers probably shrugged their shoulders at.Oh well. All in all the bikini films aren't bad as such, but they're corny. And I guess that's their ultimate charm.

A Must-Have Beach Party Movie
This movie is an interesting twist on the "sand and surf" movies, but this time Tommy Kirk joins in on the fun as an alien visiting from another planet. His hope is to help his planet take over ours - that is, until he meets Annette Funicello's character. This movie includes most of the same supporting cast (including Harvey Lembeck) reprising their roles from the other "Beach Party" movies. One thing though, since Frankie Avalon only has a small cameo in the movie, the charismatic charm he brings to the "Beach Party" set feels like it's missing in this story. However, Annette sings some of her cutest songs, including "Stuffed Animals" as well as the theme, "Pajama Party". With those catchy, upbeat songs this movie is definitely a must-have.While most "Beach Party" movies are included in the Frankie and Annette collection that MGM released, this film was not included in the set, however the DVD quality of "Pajama Party" is great, and matches the quality of the other "Beach Party" movies MGM released.I would definitely recommend this for fans of the mid-1960s, Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Tommy Kirk, Disney films (like "Mis-Adventures of Merlin Jones", or "The Shaggy Dog"), sand and surf movies, or anyone looking for an upbeat, fun movie.

classic Beach Party film
PAJAMA PARTY is probably the second best-loved sequel of the original BEACH PARTY (the first has to be the quintessential BEACH BLANKET BINGO). The party moves indoors for the wonderful romp with Annette Funicello and the gang.Connie (Annette Funicello) finds herself being chased by a handsome martian from Mars, Go-Go (Tommy Kirk), while trying to save her relationship with the self-obsessed Big Lunk (Jody McCrea). Thankfully, kindly dress-shop owner Aunt Wendy (Elsa Lanchester) is on hand to offer advice to the younger generation about matters of love and the heart.Annette and the gang trade their beach threads for pajamas and baby-dolls in this very cute musical. Annette sings the classic standard "Stuffed Animal", while Donna Loren will have you jumping with "That's The Way It's Done".Then there are fantastic cameos from film veterans Buster Keaton and Don Rickles; while Dorothy Lamour shows she could still 'cut a rug' with the best of them with her infectious number.Interestingly, the "pajama party" of the title doesn't happen until the last 20 minutes of the picture! Followed by BEACH BLANKET BINGO.The DVD has both full-frame and widescreen versions of the film as well as the trailer. (Double-sided, single-layer disc).

Pajama Party Fun
A fun romp ! Donna Loren and Annette at their best at their best. The Beach party gang with different character names, but the same cheesy 1960s fun we loved then and now.

Retro-Beach Musical - Fun to Watch!
Great fun loving AIP beach musical from the mid-sixties is still a hoot to watch after all these years. No brain teaser here; just light plot, great looking chicks (especially Susan Hart) & some real cool sounding songs (especially from the Nooney Rickett 4). Is it possible to get the original music from this film? Of course, not to forget Annette & Tommy (Frankie had a cameo in this one). The ending credits scene with Susan Hart, Elsa Lanchester & Buster Keaton is memorable. So glad to find that Amazon, thru it's many distributor's is still carrying this product, because MGM who now owns the AIP rights has discontinued it I beleive. Thanks Amazon!

Nice clean movie
I enjoy the older movies because they can be humorous without the language - not that I’m against that but these older movies can be watched with my grandchildren

Pajama Party
When I was younger I liked this movie, I still do but not as much as I was younger. The movie has singing and ok humour. I don't see why the would say that Annette Funicello was all kids dream girl. I was at that time with Mickey mouse and I did not like here singing and did not think she was a teen idol. I this movie Annette Funicello singing is okay. But here a singing was plain. but Tommy singing had great echo and reverb on his voice, but that tell you it was done in the studio, he has echo, she doesn't at first, could have been better. Buster Keaton was just plain stupid.
