Great improvement in brightness and distance
I bought two pairs of these for my headlights. I'm almost certain three of the four bulbs in the spare car (2004 Civic) were original. I installed these and it completely improved my vision at night. The light is a very pure white, which is what I wanted. I can now see further down the street with low beams, and the high beams punch quite a distance now. As for the beam pattern, it does scatter a little more on low beams than halogen bulbs, but not as bad as others I have seen. The bulk of the light still remains low, out of the line of vision of oncoming cars. There is one area of concern. In my headlights, one of the bulbs is a 9005 and the other a 9006. The difference is in the mounting flange. As this Philips bulb can be used in both locations, it includes an extra set of plastic mounting flanges, which are easily swapped. If you find your new bulb is too loose or too tight, you may need to switch that flange over. I bought both pairs through the Amazon Warehouse. One package was OK. The other, however, was missing the extra pair of flanges. Luckily I had the spare from the first package. So this is something to watch for if you are not purchasing a new package of these--the extra flanges might be missing. UPDATE 4 Dec 2025: Still working perfectly! It is worth buying these name brands like Philips and Sylvania.

How do these have 4 stars!?
My Mom has a 2015 Mazda CX5 Touring. I put these 9005 Philips LEDs in my Moms non-projector high beams. I also put H11 Philips LEDs in her Projector Low Beams and H11 Philips LEDs in her non-projector fog lights. The photos speak for themselves. The New LEDs gaskets are big and thick allowing them to seat right into the sockets perfectly. Not to right or loose. They plugged right in with no issue and you can’t hear the fans on them from outside of the cx5 or inside. They cause no radio/speaker interference. All the lights are equal in output as well. The flat line these lighter project thru my moms Low Beam projectors is astonishing haha. Honestly! For an LED that is “plug and play” and have no Ballasts or extra wiring to perform this great is the reason why I went with Philips. Also make sure YOU check your vehicles bulb codes. Just because your low beams are H11 doesn’t mean your foglights are. Or that your high beams are also H11. It’s never that easy and all vehicle are different. There are 9005/H11, then there are just H11, then there’s just 9005. So make sure you research the bulb codes and make sure they correspond with what you purchase.

Never again!
I bought this less than a year ago. One of my bulbs died and I know it has to do something with the harness that comes off of it. How do I know that is because I swapped them between each side of the vehicle and the other side works just fine on the left hand side where the trouble bulb was initially. I have called Phillips automotive today and they said they only offer support as they're going through some sort of reorganization and they're not going to send me a product replacement or a check for the balance of this bulb. I would not buy this again!

Perfect… but, installation heads up
The product worked perfectly. It’s really bright and allows me to see at a distance. However, I’ve also been noticing cars have been signaling their high beams at me. I noticed a few cars doing this and it started to feel awkward. I then went to inspect the lightbulbs and noticed that the driver side bulb was installed differently than the passenger side. The bulb on the driver side apparently has been shining its light upward. I decided to invert it and installed it just like the passenger side. Now both headlights are at the right level and aren’t bothering any other drivers.

Pretty good!
For one Philips is a staple in the automotive lighting world. These bulbs are very well built with some true quality materials. I did have these installed, and they were super quiet with no fan noise whatsoever. The only downside to these bulbs is that the socket adaptor that goes into the headlamp assembly while it is also well built, it does not fit the cut out quite so easily. The bulb does lock into the removable socket, but once it’s in the headlamp it an be quite difficult to remove, and in my case it did not fit all the way into headlamp.. Besides that small issue they are a pretty good set of bulbs. They are bright and produce a very good beam pattern of light, they do illuminate the road better than Halogens, but for them being only 20 watts per bulb, they aren’t as bright as competitors bulbs. For you’re driving at night quite a lot I would look for better options. But if you don’t drive at night a lot, these are a great alternative to Halogens

Works as Described
Perfect fit for high beam Lexus GX460. I was very skeptical of these LEDs but I understand the hype. Extremely bright with a good pattern. Excellent visibility improvement at night.
