Seems like this model has seen significant cost-cutting over the years, maybe too much... **Q: How thick the branches you can cut?** A: You can cut over an inch diameter my rotating the cutter with open jaws around the branch. The sharp cutting blade will slice through the branch. **Q: I would like these shears for cutting the hard dorsal, pectoral and tail fins off of fresh whole fish like salmon, bass, trout etc? will it work well?** A: I would say it will work on some fish. Smaller fish such as bass and trout should work well but large fish with tougher fins might be a struggle.
