More than just games
I liked that this book opens by going over what your dog's body language is trying to tell you. This is so crucial so that you can connect with the dog, meet his needs, and understand when he is amenable to teaching or playing. Then we get into a section on toys and such that you can make at home, most with materials you already have on hand (like tshirts and socks). There is then a whole section on games and teaching exercises you can play with your dogs. What I found helpful was that there was a whole section on things for your dog to do when he/she is home alone. Now i won't feel so guilty about leaving my boys home when I do have to.

Do NOT buy this book
This book is absolutely worst garbage I can ever remember reading. It is badly written, badly edited, and badly published. The author may know something about dogs but it is hard to tell since they know almost nothing about writing clearly in English. If you got this book for free, you paid too much for it.1. The book appears to have had an author and/or editor for whom English is a second or third language. Grammatical masterpieces such as the following give a flavor of the gibberish on offer. Note these are meant to be standalone, i.e., they don't rely on context to provide clarity.- 'Just like when your dog plays rough or beastly, it's a clear sign that he needs to go a long way'.- 'The education of the dog is fundamental since this will allow him to establish a character to dominate it' . The 'it' here remains a mystery.- 'For his mind to work actively, don't stop stimulating his sense of smell'.- 'The canine skills have exceeded any kind of expectations'.2. The font used is enormous - like one normally associated with books that have 5 cardboard pages and deal with Spot Chasing His ball.3. The first 40 pages or so could be literally replaced by 'Dog's can have problems if not mentally and physically stimulated so stimulate them' and not lose much content or meaning.4. The next 10 pages or so consist of ridiculously complicated ideas like 'put a treat in a box and have your dog find it'. This one is a favorite as it is repeated often.5. The remaining pages are a mystery to me as I threw the book away at this point.

covers a lot that people forget.
With our hyper reactive foster, abused fail we learned a lot of this the hard way and I’m so glad we worked it out. This seems like a good resource. Love some of the games they suggested and we will start rotating them in.

Train a dog
Probably author put much work into this book,And it’s a good book for attempting to make your dog smarter, healthier and happier. The exercises included in book are easy to read and understand. And for the most part my dog has obeyed and proven she’s a genius (duh)Only problem I see is that these training tools won’t work for some dogs. Some dogs are wild nutz who have mind of their ownBut the concept of book is great, easy to understand and implement.

Very basic
This book is very weak and basic. The writing is poor, and the ideas are few and far between. The author even suggests that we give dogs candy. Find another resource this one’s pointless.

Awkward and sometimes unclear writing but some good information
The following is just one example of awkward/unlear writing: on page 27 under the heading He Plays and Moves Abruptly - "Just like when your dog plays rough or beastly, it's a clear sign that he needs to go a long way". I am guessing that English is a second language for both the author nd editor. In general, the context does help provide the meaning. What I like about the book is there are many suggestions for interacting with my dog. I am looking forward to trying them.

play games with your dog
The author suggests playing brain games with your dog to stimulate its mind while having fun. There are some illustrations for making props for playing these games.

Not worth the read
Terribly written. Took too long to talk about the games and didn’t explain them very well. Assumed basic training was already completed but spoke as if you never even saw a dog before. Most of the games were for smaller, less destructive dogs. I’m not going to spend hours seeing and crafting toys that will be destroyed in 10 minutes.

Waste of Money
This book is poorly written and the suggestions for play items while some are detailed the majority are not. It is a waste of money.
