Great for their intended purpose
I’m wearing a walking boot for several weeks while healing from a severe calf strain. I noticed more pain and swelling, especially around my ankle and heel, after wearing the boot for hours. So I bought these socks to see if that would help provide some relief. I was surprised at how much they have relieved my pain and discomfort. There is mild compression, but enough that the swelling has gone down a lot. They are soft and easy to pull on. They have washed well so far. They are thicker than most socks I own, but my foot somehow doesn’t get sweaty in them all day. My only complaint is that they snag far too easily on the Velcro on the boot.

perfect walking boot companion
OVERALL these were perfect weight, stretchiness, and length/size for me. I got for post ankle op recovery which required 4 weeks in a boot. I am 5'7" and my leg was generally pencil thin at the time.PROS: went all the way to just below knee and had perfect stretchiness so as to very lightly compress without creating compression marks on my leg. They are thick-ish and very soft on the inside, kept my leg and foot warm and cozy.CONS: easily snag on the boot velcro, I mean like just the slightest touch will snag your sock. The toe area is a bit chunky and pushing on toes a bit so I was always pulling out to give my toes space.CONSIDERATIONS: if you are larger or heavier I could see that these would be more compressing and maybe not go up to knee easily. Also if you are prone to run hot all the time these are on the thicker side.I would recommend and definitely buy again, God forbid I'm in a boot again.

Like Wearing a Sock Hug
Okay, your life could be worse, you could have a sweaty unmanageable hard cast...but instead you have the freedom of an air cast. The PA in my doctor's office told me to make sure I wore a sock with the boot, and after trying a gamut of regular crew socks (too thick and bunchy), to compression socks (worse than putting on pantyhose), I finally just tried a search on 'socks for air cast'. I was not disappointed. These socks are thick enough to protect your leg from rubbing, and have just enough compression that they feel good and stay up, without needing a small army of help to get the sock on (I have a knee injury, too, so being able to put this sock on unassisted was a huge plus). They are super soft against my leg, they wash well - I have both air dried and machine dried with no issues. The only possible downside is that the velcro closure of the boot will pull the yarns in the sock if you aren't careful putting your boot on, but the sock holds up well against the abuse.UPDATED: After washing them a few times, the socks do shrink and get a little thicker, where the elasticized top gets tighter. I would STILL buy them again, but I wanted to make sure I updated "wash well" to include that they will shrink over time.

Only contains 2 socks
Comfortable sock, but listing is misleading. It only comes with 2 socks not 2 pair. The image shows a left and right sock and states 2 pack. Socks are normally in pairs, so I expected 4 individual socks. Pricey when you are only receiving half of what you expect.

Sturdy and helpful
These socks are well worth buying if you are stuck in an aircast or boot. They are heavy and long enough to reach the top of the boot. I bought a second pair so I could rotate them thru the wash.Would definitely recommend.

Excellent product!
I’m not one to write reviews, but I thought this might help someone in a similar situation.I’m in a ortho boot for three broken bones and a dislocation of the left ankle. They recently removed my bandage, but I will be using the boot for at least two more months. I needed something to replace the bandage, to keep the boot from rubbing my skin, creating sores and blisters. I couldn’t wear my usual socks due to the amount of swelling, too much compression, they left an impression (not a good one!). I ordered these socks and crossed my fingers. Well, they work perfectly. Light compression, long enough for my tall boot, soft and comfortable, no more sores or blisters. If you’re in a similar situation, definitely give these a try. You won’t regret it.
