Super wake-up alarm clock.
I am hearing impaired and needed an alarm that could definately wake me. This one has 1. An extremely loud sonic alarm. 2. A really violent, vibrating attachment and, 3. Two very bright, flashing LED lights. These can be used all together or in different combinations. The Vibrating attachment is a round thickish disk, a couple of inches across, with a long wire which connects to the clock. I used this the first night, under my pillow and am sure that nobody would be able to sleep on, once it activates. It is so strong that I vowed I would only ever use it under my matress in the future. . The next night I tried the sonic alarm and the light. One's very loud and the other is blinding. I have found that the flahing lights are enough to wake me (even if I have my back to the clock when it goes off). When trying to find the right button to switch it off, I have to hold one hand in front of the flashing lights while the other fumbles for the off switch. Is it possible that such bright flashes could make me visually impaired too (Ha, Ha)? I think one would have to be in a coma to be unaffected by this appliance. Not to be forgotten is the time display - The figures are bright red and very large, so no problem seeing what the time is if you wake up during the night.

LOUD, PROUD, BEST ALARM EVER!!!
amazing wakes me up every morning! the only alarm able to do this and i have had this alarm for well over a month now i think. also helps with my sleep (kind of!) i sleep 4 hours a night now, but at least i am waking up in time for work etc. i place the alarm away from my bed so i have to get out to answer it so i don't just fall asleep again! i put the vibrator in a plastic tub/bowl and that also helps make extra noise. the flashing strobe is good but being daylight every morning i don't actually know how well it would work! there is 4 preset alarms, and the back light is adjustable. its mains powered, i really like it. No other alarm can compete with the amazing-ness of this beast! they need to make more alarms as loud as this one! this was a miracle find at the time if you struggle with waking up in the morning or getting out of bed, and like me tried everything, including multiple alarms, gentle alarms, etc this will get you up! i struggled all my life waking up and i have finally found this beauty!

Simple operation and will wake you up
I like this because it doesn't have any confusing features that would lead to it not going off. It has one single alarm time when it goes off, it is simple to set and very loud. My only worry is the volume knob on the side for the alarm, if someone accidentally turned it down. So be sure to check that. It has a vibrating device that goes under the pillow AND a strobe light AND a loud alarm. And it is good quality construction, strong and durable.

Shaker broke after 18months
Advertised 2 year warranty inexistent. Amazon refer you to the manufacturer, manufacturer refer you to seller. Amazon are the worst! Keeping you in a clicking paradox unable to speak to human to resolve the issue to either give a replacement or repair.

Brilliant and you can use just the shaker
Wow you're not going to sleep through this alarm. No more sleeping in hearing aids and losing them during the night. Yesterday I woke before the alarm and was downstairs in the kitchen the other side of the house and boy did it make me jump when it went off. It has a shaker that goes under, your pillow, a light that flashes and a very loud alarm. Perhaps you can turn it down, I haven't looked, you can turn the light brightness up and down. I especially like that you can choose which one(s) to go off. Mostly I use just the shaker but if its really important I don't oversleep I use shaker and alarm. I sleep better now that I don't worry about not hearing the alarm and being late. I had a different brand but similar alarm before, that I used to sleep through.

Poor support from Geemarc
There are good aspects of this ‘super loud’ alarm clock no doubt but the product I got was faulty despite being advertised as having minor cosmetic damage, Yes, you guess it. I rolled the dice and went with Amazon Warehouse who rarely ever seem to actually carry out proper checks and constantly mis-describe the items they’re re-selling as fully working when they’re not. So, my review of the alarm clock cannot be entirely fair because I received a faulty unit. The vibration pad/bed shaker doesn’t work. It usually needs a hefty tap to get it to start buzzing, even then, it sometimes only vibrates once or twice. Rarely more. So it’s entirely unreliable as it never goes off with the main audible alarm or flashing light. I can hardly be expected to remember to give it a hard tap whilst I’m sleeping in order to get it to wake me up! Audible alarm: there’s a very useful dial to select lowest to maximum volume. There are 3 tones to choose from, 800Hz (low tone), 1000Hz (1KHz) Mid tone, 1500Hz (1.5Khz) High tone. If you are hearing impaired, one of these tones may sound significantly higher to you. The tones are basic and abrupt, unpleasant sounding beeping but really good for *actually* waking up to. Nothing pretty or gentle. I don’t know if 95dB sound level at 1 meter is properly accurate but it’s pretty loud and as loud as they come. Flashing STROBE LED: I feel this is kind of pointless really. You can choose to have it set to flash with or without either the audible or vibration alarms. DISPLAY: This is large and clear with 3 brightness levels - dim, medium and bright. Red is a good colour to use at night as it doesn’t over stimulate the brain or strain the eyes. The layout is clear, logical and uncluttered but because of its simplicity, perhaps it lacks other info like date or temperature if that’s important to you. I felt the 24 hour/12 hour choice of selecting was a bit basic compared to some other digital clocks. Essentially you can’t just flip the time into PM or AM mode. You’ll still need to set the time by potentially pressing the button 20 times to get it to 8pm say. CONTROLS & FUNCTIONS: The buttons are ok in size, a little on the smaller size but otherwise logically placed and easy enough to use even without referring to the included paper manual. Compared to some other alarms clocks I’ve recently used, this is on the better side of ok mostly because setting the time and single alarm is straightforward. It was quite refreshing to use compared to another alarm clock I’ve got that is really awkward to set. The only odd bit is to understand when setting the single alarm is that the last things to input and set of HI/LO or F1, F2, F3 relate to the intensity of vibration (High or Low) and the audible alarm pitch tone (F = Frequency 1, 2, or 3). It’s an awkward way of changing the alarm time as you have to set this bit each time too but hopefully you won’t need to do that too often. There is however, just the ONE ALARM. You cannot set multiple alarms to go off at different times so that’s quite a big negative for some. The SNOOZE button is of course, easiest to reach as the largest button on top combined with the display dimmer button. You can set the snooze feature to activate between a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 60 minutes. BACK UP: There’s an option to install a CR2032 coin type battery (sold on Amazon but not supplied with the product). This is in case of mains power failure or interruption and will save your alarm clock and alarm time settings. You don’t have to fit the small lithium type coin battery in order for the clock to work but it’s a good idea to do so. Somewhat confusingly the manual tells you without the battery in place the clock display will turn off. Uh, yeah… No electricity will do that to a product that relies upon an electrical current. It’s just strange way to say what will happen if you don’t install a battery should the power fail. VIBRATING PAD: So, this is obviously a main selling point and I note that many customers buying this kind of alarm clock with this feature (albeit many other competing brands) have experienced issues with durability and longevity etc. Mine didn’t work properly at all day one. However, the buzzer unit does seem sturdy with a good strong and securely attached cable, protecting the device from being sharply pulled. This is the main reason I chose this alarm so it was very disappointing to receive a duff product and more so, to contact Geemarc directly for assistance and be told to just contact Amazon and that their help contact wasn’t designed for the kind of issue I had. Er, what??? Really??? I’ve gone through the wrong system support channel? Ok. Why not just forward my message to the correct department then? Don’t just fob me off by advising me to contact Amazon. With Amazon, they just get you to send everything back. I was looking for way to keep the main product and just get a vibrating pad sent to me. Surely that would be the more eco-conscious solution rather than binning everything? Ah well, perhaps Amazon will resell this clock with the correct description and perhaps lower the price so as to reflect that it doesn’t have a working and reliable vibrating pad included. Or maybe they’ll just list it exactly the same way they did before so another unsuspecting customer can buy it and then return it? MANUAL/ONLINE SUPPORT: Geemarc have the correct user manual in PDF file format to download on their website.. The one Amazon link to here is for a different alarm clock. The manual is ok and easy to follow in the main. The only exception is the odd advice that should the product not be working as expected, to ensure you are not using it from an electric socket extension lead that may be overloaded with perhaps a high energy/electric current using device like an electric heater or some such. Yeah right…. The vibrating pad still didn’t work either way. Last points: Geemarc do actually sell the vibrating pad separately here on Amazon. They can also supply an extension lead for it. I can’t remember the exact price of either of these items but it looked relatively reasonable (£24 or so for the pad) and like £15 or thereabouts for the extension lead. Not exactly cheap but perhaps decent quality? That is if you really like the product and need to get spares. But the problem is this alarm clock already costs £54 (currently) and that puts it at more than double the cost of many of its competitors. I can’t speak for the quality of the similar vibrating alarm clocks but that seems to be the way forward for me after I initiate the returns process here on Amazon.
