I bought this to have a refillable bottle for international travel. The pro is that this works well for making sure your drinking water is safe. The con is that sometimes I would open the protective cap to get a drink and water would gush out as if it was pressurized, which was messy to say the least. Sometimes it's also hard to drink from, as the spout occasionally wants to seal itself off under sucking pressure.

I nabbed one of these during the black Friday sales. I'd been meaning to for a while, as the water at my work is horrible. I don't know if the pipes are bad or what, but it always tastes like a weird combo of pool water and dirt. This bottle has absolutely solved that and makes me feel a lot better about drinking tap water! It works so well that I had forgot i filled it up at work one day and only realized later when I was thinking the water was really good, haha.The 2-stage filter works. The main part of the lifestraw filters particles down to bacteria and gets 99.99-something percent of them. This part of the filter lasts a very long time. The smaller activated carbon filter at the top is what gets the stuff that tastes bad. These need to be replaced more frequently. However, I've had mine a bit over a month and use it daily. I haven't noticed a change in taste yet, so I reckon I've got a fair bit longer before it needs replaced.I like the way the bottle looks, and the new design with the cap and handle is very convenient. Everything is threaded, which makes disassembling and cleaning the bottle very easy. There's not much to complain about!Last, LifeStraw is a company that helps people, and I'm glad to spend my money with a company that does some good with it.

I appreciate this water bottle as it helps me drink a lot more water during my shifts at work, and it helps water taste less metallic in my opinion. Although, I guess with good products you can always find some flaws with it.Flaw number one is, even if you go slightly above the "Max- 1 L" line on the bottle, if you put your straw in, it can overflow quite easily causing a mess. Especially if you put ice in the water.Flaw number two is, for some reason, every time I use this bottle and I get to halfway done with my water, some of the water backs up into the straw and forms at the very tip of the mouth piece so when you pick it up, water pours all over you if you tilt it slightly to drink out of it. I've had this happen on multiple occasions and I do not understand why, especially because it only happens when I get to the halfway mark, and it's not overfilled at all. Another thing I don't understand with this is the water keeps backing up into the mouth piece to the point where you have to drink out of it in order to get it to stop backing up and trying to overflow out of the mouth piece. I have to hold it straight in order to drink out of it when this happens because it'll just spill all over me.Flaw number three, is I believe what occurs with all filtered water bottles that come with a straw. The straw never reaches the bottom for some reason, I don't know if companies do this purposefully or they aren't able to make the filtered straw long enough to reach the bottom, but I am constantly having to remove the filtered straw and mouth piece all together to get the last ounce of water out of my bottle and am forced to drink the tap water that I put in my bottle, unfiltered. I wish companies would make their filtered straws long enough so they could reach the bottom.I can't say if my last flaw is a flaw or not, since it's more of a preference of mine and I learned this the hard way, but you definitely cannot put water mixes in your water with this bottle. I learned this the hard way when I put in a powder mix for some mango green tea flavoring for my water in my bottle and it left the filtered stained as well as it absorbed all of the flavoring but it became sour real fast and made all my future drinks horrible. I had to buy a replacement because of this. I guess I could've avoided this by maybe putting some fruit in my water or something if I wanted flavoring instead of the flavoring powders, but I feel as though even with fruit it would've absorbed the flavoring and made all my future drinks nasty. I guess that is the downfall of having a filtered water bottle though, and maybe I should look into getting a filtered water pitcher so I could put some fruit in there or something to have at home and not at work.Anyways, if you're looking for a good water bottle that has a filter and you can work around the flaws that I've found, this is the one for you.

I bought 5 of these water bottles to use in Europe. The one-liter is slightly bigger and will not fit in a regular cup holder. The filtration is excellent and the water tastes really good coming from a tap in our hotel. The only complaint is the water bottle sometimes builds up pressure and will leak when you take the top off to take a drink. Also, going through TSA you need to make sure you pour the water out as you cannot drink it all through the filtration straws.

I ordered this bottle because it is Lifestraw.I have used their other water filter products in past for camping/hiking. I wanted for our Europe trip, to have a purifying water bottle.. no worries, get water from stream, lake or city tap etc., that has a 2 stage filter system.. carbon & membrane micro.. it filters out bacteria, parasites etc as well as chlorine. It is PBA free, lighter in weight than metal & has a leakproof lid that covers mouth part. I purchased the 1L size so it can be more easily carried. If going to carry a water bottle(you need to drink water), this takes the concern of any issues from different places & how water affects you. I liked the colors choices, which I chose lt blue & easy to carry, you can attach to BP or purse. Ready to explore & be hydrated doing so with peace of mind. It’s Price, priceless. Value of health knowing your are drinking safe water. Ready for adventure.

This Lifestraw really works!! I used it when I traveled overseas where it was not safe for me to drink the tap water. I followed the simple instructions to prep my filter at home so when I made it to my destination, the bottle was good to go. I used it everyday filling my bottle with the tap water, paying mind to the max fill line, and I was able to enjoy clean water without fuss. I did not get sick or any tummy issues at all. It was wonderful!I will warn, and i believe it may say this in the instructions, but I would not suggest using your Lifestraw water bottle on the airplane. I made that mistake and the water shot out of straw all over my lap. So beware of that.The product works great! I am so happy I made this purchase.

Ya he comprado varios de estos productos de esta marca y hasta ahora no tengo queja.Por supuesto que la primera razón para comprarlo es por la filtración del agua, pero recuerdo que entre las reseñas hay unas que hablan de que beber agua con estos aditamentos, mejora su sabor. Y es cierto. Lo llevé a un viaje que hice y lo llenaba con agua "de la llave", y lo comprobé por mí mismo.

My husband bought this for his trip to Guatemala to use while hiking up a volcano -- he was pretty disappointed as it leaked out the top the entire time. Life straw itself is cool and works but bottle could use some work. It should also come with an attached lid for easy access, not a fully removable one.

This is a great product with nice sturdy bottle. So glad I spend the money on it. I am not too keen on the taste as I've been spoiled with my Phox water filtration system at home but its OK. Need to get used to using the straw.
