Covers a wide range of topics related to Portugal
I recently read "Starting a New Life in Portugal" by Alphonsine Pelletier. This book covers a wide range of topics related to Portugal, and I found it to be incredibly informative and entertaining. The book covers everything from etiquette rules and local customs to funny quotes about Portugal, and it even delves into more complex topics like moving to Portugal and the different types of visas available. One thing I really appreciated about the book is its focus on language. It provides common expressions and words in Portuguese, as well as common slang words and even instructions on how to curse in Portuguese. This is especially helpful for someone like me who is planning a trip to Portugal and wants to be able to communicate effectively with the locals. The book also covers important topics like healthcare, taxes, and real estate, which are all essential for anyone considering moving or retiring in Portugal. It provides detailed information on the Portugal Golden Visa and the different ways to obtain citizenship in Portugal, as well as the process for applying for a work visa.Another aspect of the book that I enjoyed is its focus on the nomad life and digital nomads. It discusses the benefits of living a nomadic lifestyle and the different types of visas available for those who work remotely. It even provides information on popular universities in Portugal and the pros and cons of studying in the country.Overall, I found this book to be incredibly helpful and informative. It covers a wide range of topics and provides detailed information on each one. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is planning a trip to Portugal, considering moving or retiring in the country, or interested in the nomadic lifestyle.

Great Intro to Nomading
Great little book bout traveling until you are dead. The author is accessible and happy to answer questions which is cool. I found out two things. One is that, it used to be cheaper to move elsewhere in the world, but everyone with money descended on these places, bought up all the real estate and made it just as expensive as living in the USA - so there is little modern day advantage to moving abroad. Second is I don't want to sell all my stuff and become a vagabond. I like my house and my toys. I plan to visit, but not live there. Here is another tip. If you are older and have a lot of stuff, you likely bought all that stuff with 'yesterday's dollars'. To replace that same stuff day, in say Portugal, will cost you triple the original cost of acquiring it in say, 1980, 1990. Caveat Emptor.

Everything You Need To Know About Portugal!!
This book is essential if you're planning a move or even just to visit Portugal. I would also recommend it if you would like to learn about another country and culture. This book does an excellent job covering all aspects a person moving to Portugal should be aware of and consider from Visas to language and customs, work/retiring, taxes, transportation, real estate, I can go on and on its all here. For containing a lot of valuable information, the book is broken down into easy to read and follow chapters with digestible paragraphs. There is a chapter dedicated to the language (Portuguese) with common words and expressions to use. It has a section that outlines curse words in Portuguese, I think it is very important topic to be aware of when traveling to a country where your fluency is a little shaky, and potentially save you some embarrassment, my dad encountered this problem on his honeymoon and was lucky enough to be corrected by someone nice (my mom loves retelling this story, my dad not so much).Very informative book! It will be your one stop shop for all things Portugal, also a fun read!

Portugal Information Book
Nice book overall with loads of information. However, disappointed in the smaller size and that it has no colored pictures.

Informative & Entertaining
I was searching for information about relocating to Portugal but I never expected to find a read which was so entertaining as this book. I love the way it’s written conversationally as if I’m sitting talking with the author and having a nice cup of coffee while she shares her experiences and knowledge. So many aspects of the culture, the people, in as well as necessities of relocating are covered here. Don’t hesitate, just purchase this book because you’ll love reading it, it’s that entertaining. I intend to get the hard copy to use as reference and a couple to gift to others. Loved it!

A very good resource for those thinking about moving to Portugal
A well written and informative source! This book not only covers many of the logistical considerations one should evaluate in deciding on a move to any foreign land but gives some wonderful insight into culture, language and daily life. Immigration requirements and processes are rapidly changing so, as the writer frequently mentions, verify what is required and the "hoops you must jump through" to either do a temporary or long term move.

Not as descriptive for D7 visa.
Author is not too descriptive about D7. Put the black and white picture of the country and we are in 2023!Did she mention you need health insurance before you land there with your D7 visa? It's simple, easy to read book but you may need to refer another book/site for additional info.
