First impressions after setting up and playing with it a bit, which I may update after I've used it more. I was attracted to this camera by the optical viewfinder, as I am fed up with not being able to see my smartphone screen when shooting in bright sunlight, i.e. on holiday, so thought this would solve that problem, which it does. It's a shame though that the viewfinder isn't better optical quality or have the same focal length of the main lens, as what you see is not really what you get on the photo - you get a bigger area in the shot than you think, so that's a bit silly. I know this is a basic camera, but they could have made a bit more effort to get that right. I quite like the retro look if it - reminds me of the cameras I used to use before smartphones took over camera duties, and it's quite a nice thing to use, with plenty of settings for the basic user. I've upped the resolution from the default 12MP to 16 to hopefully get a sharper image, so I'll see if I need to up it a bit more, but as this is primarily a holiday camera, it'll probably be fine. Ultimately, this is not a patch on the technology available on a mid-range smartphone, and I've got to persuade myself that it's worth carrying around in my pocket on holiday (it's quite light, but a little bulkier that I'd hoped), but overall I think it was a bit more expensive than it warrants (I did make sure I got it during its special offer period at £87.99!), and I would have been more pleased with it at a price point nearer to £50. Apart from the optical viewfinder, which makes it worthwhile for my needs, I'm not sure this is worth the money over a lot more compact digitals available for under £50.

I wanted a small camera that I could use to zoom in on details. This camera produces a horrible pixelated grainy image when used to zoom in. The settings are simply decorative: they make no difference at all to the horrible picture quality - the menu shows the settings as altered but the photos remain exactly the same as when it is set to the low grade default position. I'd give it to a small child who likes playing with electronic settings that don't do anything, but otherwise it is a waste of time and money. I tried to return it as not fit for purpose, but sadly Amazon's terms don't allow me to do this, as by the time I had managed to find someone who could look at the camera and check whether I was doing something wrong to make the settings not work (I wasn't), the returns window had closed.

I got this for a trip to Egypt, 🇪🇬 but so pleased I took another camera, for the price, albeit cheap, £100+ image quality is poor and zoom function stepped rather than a smooth continuous zoom. Any smartphone would be a better option

This camera has solid optical stabilisation, good auto focus and all the things I look for in a camera. It is compact and lightweight, easy to carry in one hand.Additionally, the camera features a video mode and the ability to connect to high-definition displays using an additional cable.
