I lost it and decided that I would try this one before buying a new expensive one. In my case I find that this aid actually does as well as, if not better, job than the expensive aid. The ear insertion piece is a little large, I will have to buy a smaller insertion as the smallest given piece is too large and a little uncomfortable. Hearing aids do not give a "normal' hearing, as there is always the background noise problem even if you are told that it is filtered, the noise can still be confusing. I use the hearing amplifier when I watch TV so that I do not have to have the TV sound up loud. I am very pleased with this aid. ### ⭐⭐ The sound Quality is poor (compared to the Beltone units) *by B***O on Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2016* The sound Quality is poor (compared to the Beltone units). The unit amplifies the background noise in places like restaurants, or at home with the TV playing at normal levels. Background noise is raised to the "Painful" level, and conversation gets lost.In quiet environments, listening to speech, it works pretty well. There's no "low Battery" alert, and when the battery goes dead, the unit just "Fades away" over a hour or so, and then isn't there at all any more. Battery life isn't bad I'm getting about a Day and a half with heavy usage.About a week out the unit stopped working, and upon disassembly, it was found that one of the wires had broken off the internal microphone. When I soldered it back on, the unit worked again, and has continued to function normally. They are OBVIOUSLY not assembled with much quality control.BUT - for what they cost, as long as it keeps working, It's worth the money. ### ⭐ I was not pleased with this product *by B***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2014* I decided to order this item based on the discounted $31.99 price of the original $389.98 and the high ratings given here by others. My experience with this item is not a good one. The amplifier is just way too big and bulky, the part that goes behind the ear is 1 3/4" and if the tube that goes over the ear is included in measuring it's 2" total. Even the smallest of the three ear pieces was too large to go in my ear properly, but I could hear sound through it. When I adjusted the volume up just a little I could hear a contant frying noise. The brochure included states: "use sound magnifier only when situations require amplification of sounds, such as movies, television and the like. sound magnifier is not to be worm(sic)" and the message ends there so I don't know what the writer was attempting to get across. The good news is that Amazon has sent a printed return label and I'm returning it.
