Best case for the money, both sturdy and functional.
I live close to where I gig, so I purchased this case with the idea that I could walk or bike with it easily. But I wanted something that would protect my horn at the same time, it made me nervous to carry it around in a soft case. This case meets these requirements and then some. The construction feels solid and all the stitching is comparable to some of the higher quality backpacking gear. I play a 1945 Zephyr Tenor and it fits very snugly into the case, perfectly I would say. There is no loose movement of the horn once the case is closed. It is nice also to have a separate compartment for the neck and mouthpiece as a hard case might have. Though, any tenor with a beefy neck brace, as the Zephyr from that era does, the neck doesn't fit quite as well as it could. But this is only a minor issue, and the neck does not move around at all once the case is closed up. All in all, I feel like the horn is as secure and safe as it would be in any regular hard case. The wood frame gives it a solid feel but it is still pretty light weight. Also, the optional backpack straps work very well with this case. Good buy

Good quality budget alternative to an expensive case.
Appears to be well-made & excellent, only time will tell how it holds up. Will try to update after some use. I got this for my MKVI tenor, the tipper being a review which said it fit their MKVI "like a glove". Indeed it does!I especially like the dedicated, strap-in recesses for mouthpiece & neckpiece. No longer necessary to put these in bags etc. to keep from flopping around. These are velcro-fastened, so again time will tell how hardy; velcro has a tendency to wear out.The case closes by zipper, so on the one hand no hasps or catches to fumble with or worry about but, on the other, if the zipper fails then break out the bungies. Zipper seems to be good quality so hopefully it will outlast any other wear points of the case. The zipper handles (there are 2, coming from either end of the case), have openings big enough for a small lock, tho in my many decades of playing I don't recall locking my case more than a few times. There is no generalized storage area inside the case, but there are 2 outside pouches, one of which would be limited to a small amount of very flat stuff, as it is on the bottom relative to how one would open the case. I would have preferred a rectangular version of this case for storage, but that puts one in another significantly higher price range. Since I was keeping my costs down to replace a worn case which didn't fit my horn well, this will do just fine. I always carry an accessory bag anyways, so no biggie.A bit on the heavy side, but should be sturdy. Need light? Consider a gig bag.Assuming this will hold up reasonably well, this is an excellent buy and I would hold the apparent quality up favorably next to cases costing almost 3 times as much, short of an actual flight case, though one would expect cases in that price range to last a lifetime. Other reviews seem to show this to be fairly hardy, a few years of good service being acceptable. Hopefully things will get more normal and I will start playing enough again to need one of those "lifetime" cases!

Awesome Tenor sax case!!!
I bought this case over the summer for my tenor saxophone and I was very pleased!! I have a student tenor as well as a professional one and they both fit into this case perfectly. The design of the case is stunning, as well as the durability of it. It's light, well padded and looks professional. It does come with a shoulder strap. The only problem I had was the fact that the case doesn't come with the backpack straps. I would honestly recommend investing in these backpack straps to get even more use out of the case. They are very handy!!! Also, there is a descent amount of room in the two zip-up pockets on the case (one on each side) for reeds, etc. but just not enough depth in them to store music.Great Investment! Awesome saxophone case!!!

Nice case - easy to carry and provides good protection
We purchased this Protec case to replace a broken hard shell case for my son's tenor sax, and decided to buy another one for my other son's alto sax for which we had a worn out soft shell case. These cases beat both of our other cases.- very smart looking case available in multiple colors. My kids liked choosing their color.- Exterior is a very sturdy-looking fabric.- Contoured design gives the instrument adequate protection while minimizing the bulk of the case. Most rectangular cases are bulky.- Internal storage is sufficient for all of the components of the sax as well as some cleaning supplies. There is an additional zippered storage compartment on the outside of the case which provides more than sufficient additional storage. Very convenient and easy to access.- there are handles on the top and end of the case, which make it very easy to move around in tight spaces.- Shoulder strap makes it easy to carry. We bought the additional "backpack straps," which we thought would make the instrument easier to carry walking to and from school, but the boys don't use them.- plastic "feet" on the bottom and end protect the fabric while the case is sitting on the ground, and allow you to stand it on end, which is nice for storage.
