Good Buy
The device came in on time but in the pack was some of the Q-link cover detached (see image). My guess is that happened during shipment, maybe handling, but I’ll advise a harder glue be used to hold it from factory (i had to attach it back). My Con:Also, when i wanted to insert the hard drive i noticed its a direct access to the motherboard, compared to MPC live2 which ensures the motherboard is well protected. If you drop a screw or misdirect a cable you might yank something off.My Pro:I love all the extra plug-in bundled. It makes buying it over the regular MPC-X worth it. Somehow the drum pads respond better compared to the live2, my opinion though. I’m a tactile fan, the fact that i got most of the second functions and menu functions already laid out on the buttons is a plus for me.Overall, Good device, and the wrist-rest makes for good comfort. Plus the retro look is beautiful as well.

Good bye beat tweaker!!!!!
I’ve been a long MPC enthusiast!! I had the mpc 2000xl which launched my production career. I then gave it up to go into being a “laptop producer”. Well I can honestly say I suffered from “beat tweaking” or becoming a “beat zombie”. This is when you spend countless unnecessary hours making a beat and you look like a zombie staring at the laptop moving all these virtual knobs and sliders to get this perfect, or this sounding like that, or that moving like this.Well the MPC X is the solution to the aforementioned diagnosis! The MPC X gets you back to making the beat and then moving on to the next!! I have literally disconnected from the computer when doing music and the beats are faster and song sequencing is faster and more concise and simplified. Literally, turn it on, pick a project, then start making music. It just eliminates the “tweaker/zombie” mentality and gets you into what matters most, the beat.Pros-Touch screen allows for fluid interaction between software/hardware, Standalone-no need to tether to computer, upgradabilty, internal effects are easy to use, inputs outputs, and there’s more just don’t feel like typing this longCons-YOU WILL NEED A INTERNAL SATA HARDDRIVE- 525g to be exact unless your sound library is 30years old then you’ll need 1tb, learning curve is steep to beginners (see pics MPC x does provide start up projects) but to MPC enthusiasts it will take you less than a day to learnOnce you develop your work flow it will be come a cinch to construct beats and songs. Great job Akai!! Ask me questions if you need convincing, if not just get it and dive in! ‘Mamba-Out’;)

Smiling every time I power it on!
Buttons, buttons, buttons! Love the 10 inch touch screen! Audio quality is excellent; very loud and clear. Easier layout compared to my MPC One. Definitely increased music creation productivity. Very reliable software MPC 3. Consistent experience every time. Delivery was on time. Amazon pricing made this possible.

Disappointing Experience with MPC X SE Purchase via Amazon Global
I recently purchased the MPC X SE through Amazon Global, excited to finally own such a highly regarded piece of music production hardware. Unfortunately, the experience has been far from what I expected, especially for a product costing over $2000.Upon arrival, the unit was not sealed—it appeared to have been opened previously. Even more concerning, I was unable to register the MPC X SE under my name, which strongly suggests that the unit may have already been registered by someone else. This completely defeats the purpose of purchasing a new product. To make matters worse, several key software licenses that should be included with a new unit were missing. These including Fabric XL, OPx4, Stage Piano, Stage EP, Studio Strings, and more.As someone who invested in this unit expecting a full, brand-new experience, this has been extremely disappointing. I sincerely hope there is a way to resolve this—perhaps through software license re issuance or product re-registration—without having to go through the hassle of a full return and international shipping. This experience has lower my confidence in purchasing expensive hardware through Amazon Global. I expected better protection and quality assurance for a premium device in this price range.I urge others to double-check the condition of their unit immediately upon arrival, and I hope Akai or Amazon can provide a resolution that reflects the quality and support this product line is known for.

A bit overpriced
Great piece of equipment.I enjoy the Touch Screen and Computer Connectivity.A bit overpriced, considering there legacy models. However if your looking to create in a new dynamic join the team. Maybe keep your old MPC and check this one out too.

It’s worth the money.
This is a great product. I’ve considered buying an MPC for years but never committed because sounds were not included. But this standalone unit is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Its a studio and controller all in one. Great job Akai!!

Great
There is A LOT this equipment can do. Once you learn it all (which may take awhile if you have limited time) an entire new world of creation is at your fingertips. Despite the slight learning curve and lack of physical manual, the Akai MPC X is a complete beast and I could not be happier with my purchase. The quality of sound is top-tier, and the possibilities and ways you can transform, sequence, create, manipulate, it etc. is stunning. Highly recommended.
