This is obviously designed to be used on an empty system. Connecting it to a pressurized system may cause the plunger to fly out and coolant to spray everywhere.I used it on a pressurized system. It was pretty sketchy but it worked. Please make sure to wear safety GOGGLES and gloves. If coolant sprays in your eyes it can permanently blind you.Here's what I did: Fill with oil and make sure there's no air in the hose. Grasp plunger firmly - it will push back hard once connected. Connect to low pressure port with AC RUNNING and inject the oil. Disconnect quickly before it turns into a rocket.Hope this helps someone.

Think twice!! I filled it with an amount of dye and connected it to the low (suction) port of the car A/C, which was at a lame 35 psi. The injector immediately cracked and spilled the dye in all directions. Now the engine bay is full of sprayed dye, making leak detection using this technique impossible. It also decorated the garage cabinets, walls and ceiling. It made a mess. My garage looks like a crime scene!!

This thing really surprised me. It worked very well and I was able to find the leak. Be sure and get the dye that you will need with it. pretty simple to use.

maybe I didnt use it correct but I could not force the contents into the low pressure line
