Absolute cracking good buy.
Ok, so it appears expensive for what is effectively a torch bulb, but wait till you fit it and you'll see why. I was upgrading a BMW X3 glovebox chargeable torch supplied with the motor, which basically is crap ( the torch not the motor). Dull as a dull thing. I need a non polarised E10 screw bulb, which you basically can't buy off the high street and Halfords just dont stock them. So having bit the bullet I splashed out for this bulb at just under a tenner.Well imagine my surprise when it arrived within 2 days, fitted it in the torch and all I can say is dont point it at anyone's eyes, by god its a strong White light. Delighted with this purchase and will be ordering another. Well worth the money.

1930s cycle lamp. Just the job.
I ride old bicycles and own a few of them. They are a bit special and it's really nice to have and use the correct accessories from the same period. I've tried the flashing LED things and well, it may be safe, but it's just not right. I've had a lovely, big pre-war Lucas King of The Road "porkpie" lamp sitting around for a number of years, unused, because the trouble with old cycle lamps is not so much the bulbs, but the batteries: they don't make them any more. The only sensible thing is to upgrade the lamp to take a 9 volt tongue tingler. Yes, there are 8 volt e10 krypton bulbs available, but despite this item costing about 7x as much... why not? LED is a cleaner, whiter light and these bulbs are reputed to last an unimaginable amount of hours. The conversion was simple: no hacking, cutting or soldering. The new bulb screws straight in to the bulb holder, a 9v battery terminal plugs (via banana plugs) in to the terminal studs already there, and a rubber band holds the 9 volt battery in place (which could be improved with a zip tie). Switch the switch and ...tada! One perfectly (whoah, BRIGHT!) white light bicycle lamp -a spotlight really- still, simple enough to point it down a bit. It is a little painful to look at.In case you were wondering, while the beam is probably very "straight ahead", it does still seem to use the mirror reflector and there is enough side spill to light up the green indicator glasses either side of the bezel.Cost is a little high, but there are no minuses, yet.

A Little Expensive, but a worthy upgrade for Classic Petzl head torches.
This bulb upgrade has given my old Petzl head torch a new lease of life... I had an old "classic" headtorch from my days in the military and it has previously served me well. I had upgraded it to take AA batteries instead of the big flat P7 batteries, but the light was not that powerful anymore. I bought this UpLED MES E10 bulb and fitted it- WOW!! bright, crisp light with improved distance also. Just unscrew the front enclosure of the headtorch, uscrew the current bulb and the new one is a direct drop in replacement... 2min jobA little expensive, but a worthy upgrade. I couldn't part with my old Petzl head torch and this has just extended it's useful life for me.

not for Petzl Micro
Produces a useful amount of light but used in a Petzl Micro the zoom has no effect and there is only diffuse light, no beam. So it gives low-level light over a very wide area but no bright patch for path finding etc.I can't see why the reflectors in other lamps would be much different if designed for incandescent bulbs so this is a bit of a gamble as a new head-torch could cost not much more. I don't think the description as "focused" is correct. Also the screw threads only engaged loosely - the bulb kept rotating (but held in place). Bought to revamp a dim but otherwise excellent head-torch as I hate waste, but wasn't really worth it. I'll try to test it in a Petzl Zoom and update.

Brightness
Well I must say that this bulb is very impressive to say the least . Got it for my BMW X3 glove compartment torch as the old bulb just gave out a very weak yellow light this new bulb is white light and so strong , well done highly recommended

Update old Petzl
Makes an old dull head torch bright and shiny and hopefully last a long time ; compared to replacement old bulbs. So worth it to me, even though it possible to buy a whole new headlamp , I think upgrade is a better way than adding to landfill 👍
