Where is the gold trim on the pen? Is it really gold?

The clip and barrel band on the Parker Pearl Lacquer Rose Fountain Pen, item #1931552, are rose gold plated. The nib of this pen is rose gold finished, 18-karat.

Is the grip of the "black lacquer" pen gold? In the Amazon photos, the grip is all gold colored, but in customer images, the grip is black.

Please be advised that there are 2 different versions of Black Lacquer pen - the first one (1931527) has a gold grip, and the other one (1931494) has a black grip.

Is the 18K gold nib flexible, somewhat flexible, or more like writing with a nail?

To my hand the 18K Parker nib is somewhat flexible, but flexibility feeling also depends upon the nib physical size and to lesser extent, on It is line width, in other words it depends upon pen model you use. With bigger size, heavier pens you would feel flexibility less than with lighter small pen with smaller nib. Also if you use Parker F nib, for instance, you press on the nib harder and you feel its flexibility ( or its absence) better., as with nib size M you would not press the nib harder to get wider line - it is wide even without pressing. This way you simply would not feel the nib’s flexibility. The M may seem more flexible than F, despite from material point of view, their flexibility is the same. But in all cases Parker nib is not not a nail, definitely. If you are looking for something seemingly more flexible at moderate price, I would recommend Diplomat 14K large version ( like Excellence series) or Pelican ( something like 14/18K Souveran M series) or a bit more expensive Montblanc pens. Some people like Montegrappa, but I have no personal experience with Italian pens.
