Used Product - Clearly a return that had been used and was sticky
I knew the product was a return when I opened it and saw the LPN sticker on the back. I figured it was OK, possibly an unused return. It was not OK. The units were all unpackaged and had a thin film like goo on them, I found out why later on. I didn't want to go through the trouble of returning and reordering so I cleaned them and tried to set them up.Setting up was a giant chore, the red light wouldn't really blink as much as stutter for a second and then stay solid. I went to the internet and found that meant the batteries were probably low. (So the batteries that came with it had been used enough that they wouldn't provide enough power to set them up).I used my own new batteries and got them set up BUT, they were already named "Bee Hive Sensor X". The goo on them was from them being used in beehives. In the end.. gross, used temp sensors that I had to clean to be able to use, had to reprogram them from their previous setups and batteries not included. One thing in their favor is that after being cleaned enough to be usable they are accurate in their reading.Had I known what I would have to go through with these I would have never ordered.I will need more sensors and will order another brand next time.

challenging setup, i liked them at first. HORRIBLE battery life until rechargeable NIMH batteries!
recently purchased these to monitor temp and humidity in two rooms of my home. very small and sleek look, they even include double sided tape to mount the sensor. app is ok, but could be better. these run on 2.4GHZ networks only. took several attempts to get them to connect, but once connected, haven't had any issues. by default it displays Celsius and Not Fahrenheit. I really wish all products marketed to the united states would just do away with Celsius.. it's really useless unless your outside of the united states. sensors run on TWO AAA batteries. looking forward to seeing how long the batteries last. you can even set up alarms for certain thresholds. time will tell. sensors were cheap enough, so we will see.update 10/22/24** i have a total of 3 of these, all work perfectly, however one sensor seems to constantly give me low battery warnings after about 5 weeks or so, i suspect that the sensor may be bad, but i just ignore the warning and i will replace batteries when it finally stops working. other than this slight drawback, it still reports the temprature perfectly.update 12-22-24**these work well, but are battery hogs, seems like the most i can get out of the batteries is give or take 2 months, really disappointed with the battery life. they are accurate and i can access when not at home (via wifi) but the battery life leaves alot to be desired.HORRIBLE battery life- i would really avoid these sensors. they just simply go through batteries too faast.update 5/14/25*** out of curiosity, i decided to get some NIMH rechargeable AAA batteries, i got a set from walmart (rayovac) and a set of amazon basics brand.Happy to report that on average, these batteries last 32 days when fully charged! i was lucky to get 2 weeks out of the non rechargeable batteries, so if your thinking of tossing these sensors, just get yourself some good NIMH rechargeables. it saves alot of money, and these sensors work very well, i was about to throw them away until i tried the rechargeable batteries, so all is well now. give it a shot, you will be suprised.
