Very detailed!
This is not just an overview of the history of a species. This book goes very deep in the Yaetuan story, all the way from prehistoric times, to their expansion in the galaxy and everything in between! Also want to applaud the artwork and content, such as the maps and the geopolitics of the Yaetuans through their history! This book will definitely be worth your time if you're into spec evo and spec history!

Speculative Alien History Adventure!
It’s great to see this author put out another book in his speculative alien biology universe— those of us that love sci-fi, like to see imagination put to a test where we explore alien cultures, art and history. The art is detailed, interesting and inspiring ! The characters he creates are unlike anything I’ve seen in sci-fi movies— unique, yet relatable.Again, if you wish to step away from the mundane everyday life, check out this book!

Amazing World and Alien Species
This book is absolutely amazing and inspires me when I work on my own alien species. I love how in depth it goes into their culture, worlds, and history.

Still SOVLFUL
Another "speculative evolution" book, but this time around it's also a bit like a "speculative history" book, because it takes a very deep dive into the history and sociology of one of the species he described in The Teeming Universe and the only sentient one (aside from maybe the super-powerful Crael robots): The Yaetuan! The opening chapters deal with the origin of their planet as well as their own evolution, as you'd expect a very exhaustive history of humanity to deal with our evolution from primates as well as the way Earth itself came into being as a habitable world. After that, it's a straight up history, describing how the first bronze age kingdoms (the Yaetuan equivalents of Sumer, etc) arose, their cultures and religions, industrialization and the rise of modern nations (the Yaetuan never had world war 1 exactly, but the 'Flash Wars' are kind of reminiscent of them and Cline has some cool mechanical though not mecha designs for the Yaetuan equivalent of modern-day air fighters and guns), then the nuclear wars which almost destroyed their civilization, and finally the Yaetuans rising from the ashes, repairing their homeworld's ravaged ecosystem, and then colonizing the rest of their solar system and beyond, with detailed descriptions of the warp-drive FTL ships (referring to the real-life work of Miguel Alcubierre, who theorized the possibility of warp drives). There are also some characters used as examples of Yaetuans in different eras, like a police officer on one of the colonies, Kyno-aa, or a teenager named Ilso. They're written very well, in the text itself we know them through journal entries described as having been translated from Yaettish (or one of the languages of the colony worlds, another nice touch). They all sound distinct and believable, while Cline isn't the best prose stylist in the world, he does have a knack for characterization, and I think he'll be really good if he keeps working on it over the years. Though I suppose that is one critique you could make of the book, despite being aliens the Yaetuan seem very similar to humans psychologically, though obviously very different physically. So if you want something like say, Solaris, this isn't for you. Still, Cline put in SO much thought and effort into the development of this fictional anthropology (xenothropology?) that I have to say, again, that this book is ABSOLVTE SOVL. 5 stars, and I'm going to buy his next book whenever it comes out too (even more aliens, along with an intro from C.M. Koseman, the All Tomorrows author! Cline is REALLY moving up in the world!!!)
