PENNGold Label Series Slammer Spinning Reel

I bought the 260 model for freshwater bass fishing, and I love it. Small, but built like a tank. All metal body and smooth reeling too. I am sure it will outlast me. Buy it while you can as this model is discontinued and getting harder to find.

I have one of these that I bought when they first came out years and years ago. still running strong and smooth also though now i have a 7 year old daughter that is into fishing, she managed to get some saltwater in it one day and corrode two bears which I just replaced. needless to say I love the reel especially at the price point so I bought her a brand new one so she can herself learn about reel maintenance and enjoy the sport of salt water fishing herself.

Very smooth reel! Smooth drag! Only gave 4 stars due to weight and the auto close feature for the bail is rather stiff and very clunky. One of the best reel for the money.

What you expect from a good quality reel

I had purchased this just before a trip to the coast to go sharking and I was in a rush because I had just learned my former reel had paid the price of being used in salt water for years. I had done some quick research and found the penn slammer series. While there are only 2 of them you can use for sharking, I was surprised at the amount of features for the price. The fact that you can use braided line without adding a lead monolithic line directly to the reel was the selling point that caught my eye. The gear ratio is set low but not to low just right for a good fight. I landed a 50 lb hammerhead off the bob hall and the fight lasted about 45 minutes. Awesome reel, and came in 2 days with amazon prime.

I mow fish for bonefish in Hawaii. I have been using my Slammer 460 for over one year now, and I've caught many bonefish with this reel. This reel has a lot of smooth stopping power!The only minor issue to me is that the case is not water tight. I'm considering getting a Spinfisher V to replace my old 4400SSG which has served me very well over the years. I also own six other older-generation spinning reels in various sizes ranging from the smallest 4200ssg to the 650SS and 850SS (both of which I've used to catch mahimahi from my boat).Am I a Penn guy? YUP!

caught small trout first cast. Like the drag system on small trout. Hope to catch lunker next time to see how drag works. Casts a mile. Very nice reel.

Tolle Rolle ,sehr robust und schönes Design, perfekt zum Welsangeln,das Gewicht ist für starke Hände wodurch aber eine gute und ruhige laufeigenschaft ist.

Ich verwende die Rolle zum Waller angeln und bin mit der Qualität der Rolle sehr zufrieden. Ich bin im Besitz von verschiedenen Größen, die ich für das Spinnangeln auf Huchen, Hecht und Waller mit geflochtenen Schnüren verwende. Ich bin mit der Qualität aller Größen sehr zufrieden und hatte bisher noch kein Problem. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist aus meiner Sicht absolut in Ordnung. Andere Hersteller verlangen für ein derartig robustes Gerät, das gleichzeitig noch ein vernünftiges Gewicht hat, deutlich mehr.

Produkt stabil...läuft gut habe 55er geflochtene Schnur drauf..In einer Woche geht es los.
